Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
Unless you are competing to replace Mother Teresa, you should start being nice to yourself. Best Wishes!
You feel left out and excluded because you give him so much "help".....but it sounds like you set yourself up for it in some respects. We're all responsible for our own actions. You "help" him through all his challenges and he still cheats on you? and you stay? might be a time to ask yourself why. Why don't you deserve better?
The same myths get related over and over, that we "'deserve better" for instance. If I had a dime for every time that phrase surfaced...
Where is "better" supposed to emanate from, exactly? Where are
these ones that are actually worthwhile supposed to come from precisely? Because i have been single for so long now, five years, and all I see are cheaters who have not been caught yet, for instance, and remarkably shady people. Oh right, time for the next bit of wisdom": I attract these people to me'. Riiiiiiiight. What about when they are married to someone else and I notice their wandering eye or their classic use of the cell phone that signals to me they are up to no good. I see it all the time now. I hear stories from wives that I know immediately signal there is an affair taking place. It is everywhere. At what point must we acknowledge: Humans behave like utter swine, with apologies to pigs everywhere. At what point do we stop blaming a betrayed spouse for choosing love over loneliness and acknowledge that our species is sick and selfish and needy and cruel as the rule, rather than the exception? I think it is likely that no one has any idea what love really is. But we know we want it.
Another way of thinking around here is that someone lies to your face, exposes you to AIDS and tries to destroy the family for the sake of a fuck, to put it crudely but accurately. And ... we take them back. And then we are shocked that it happens again... and again....
But what were those options again? Someone better right? WHERE?
Why is the board filled with seemingly two outcomes: ones like me who had the unforgivable foist upon them and a mate who wanted no second chance, people who pass their days alone, endlessly interviewing for the next heartbreak . And those who take their lying cheats back; endlessly waiting in their turn for ....the next shoe to drop.
Oh right. We deserve better, and don't forget to forgive the absolutely unforgivable. Cognitive dissonance is what we deal in. Our two choices seem to be no love... and..... no love. I am underwhelmed. I am not sure what matters anymore with the options running from A all the way to B. Wow. And don't forget to stay positive!
I have no answers, just calling attention to convenient but meaningless verbiage that may not serve us at all.
Just an observation that you are one of the most articulate writers that I've ever read on this forum or any other. Your posts always raise interesting points and they seem to flow seemlessly from one paragraph to the next. If you don't write for a living that would be a shame.
The pain you feel is palpable and for that I am truly sorry. I wish the best for you and hope the future gets brighter.
Hugs

as for "better" - I think being on my own, and happy, is "better" than being with someone who cheats on me and treats me like crap. But maybe that's just me. That probably means I'll be solo forever. That's Ok.
