Just made my little dogs heart shaped pancakes (doggie cakes). Made both of them new hats yesterday and baked them "I love you cookies" for their gifts.

I'm happy today because my dogs love me, they always know when I'm sad, and they always know what to do.

OMG! - that is soooo sweet!!!! I gave my doggies heart shaped teeth-cleaning bones, and my kitties got heart shaped kitty treats. :D

Dogs are my passion, a huge part of my life! They are truly the best therapy, aren't they? Always there, amazingly tuned-in to our emotions, a constant source of comfort, and loyal to the death. And ironically, in 23 years of marriage they're the only thing my H has ever had need to feel he had to compete with for love & attention. LOL

Funny, my husband is jealous of the dogs too. He would never hurt them, but he would never comfort them either. My little one has a hard time with thunder and fireworks ... so I wrap him in a blanket and hold him just to give him some comfort, then I get his medicine to calm him down ... I don't want him having a heart attack. And I sit with him and talk to him calmly.

My husband said that i should just put him outside to desensitize him. My little one is 12 he can't take that. So, I told him he should put his kid outside during a storm, might desensitize her.

Thankfully H adores the dogs, and they him. Honestly for the last several monthsprior to dday the dogs were getting more 'love' than I was...just one of many things that raised my hackles. :)

Don't think I could ever be with someone who wasn't a 'dog person'.....but hey then ya find out your spouse has more in common with a dog than you thought!

I know one thing for sure more than I know anything else right now and that is if I leave I take the dog, if he leaves, the dog stays with me!!!!
