Does this say something? Has he changed?
When I found out about my H cheating, about 6 wks ago on our 3 yr anniversary!, he started doing more things around the house immediately too. Like chores dishes, cleaning, getting me water, whatever. For one i wasnt doing anything and I kno he does these things cause he doesn't kno what else to do to help me. I do think he is regretful. And that is a way of showing it. And I don't think he "changed" that quickly. I caught him in more lies n seeing the OW even after I found out n was home crying all day. It was his way of trying.
He still is doing a lot but I haven't forgiven him yet at all. I am feeling better for the most part but I still have bad days. The bad days are reminders to him of his guilt. I will never forget and won't let him forget either. I can move on tho!
Does that mean he had changed? In our case. No. Not really. It just meant he'd realized he'd made a REALLY bad mistake and it was going to take a LOT to fix it.
Unfortunately, at the time, I couldn't accept the love notes and sweet talk. It meant nothing to me. It rang hollow in my seared out heart. I'm immeasurably grateful NOW for those small things, but then? No. I needed honesty and time and a LOT of talking and a LOT of him opening up about things he'd never opened up about before and... well. Yeah. The list was hecka long.
Still, I think it's a good sign. Sure, it could be him just trying to get out of trouble with no intent of changing - or it could be he really and truly is remorseful and willing to take steps to make things right again. Just make sure the steps are those that YOU need.
