Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
what i will say about the questions, keep in mind you can never unask a question so think for a little while before you ask. i myself made a list and added to them for a week, and i marked a few off because i knew they would hinder healing later.what i found out,and it was confirmed by both of them,my imagination was WAAAAAAAY worse than the reality, even though the whole situation is still by far the most painful thing i have ever been through in my life. i would definitely get both your tails into counseling. its not just a cliche, it really does help.
i do agree with care1 on working on the marriage. the affair was in no way your fault, but any problems in the marriage before the affair are on both of your shoulders and need to be addressed.
also never make a decision(like to leave) in the heat of the moment like that. if my h hadntg been working so many hours on the first day i found out,and i knew i wouldnt be seeing him for a couple days(cause he would be sleeping) i might have indeed thrown his ass out,but 5 months and exactly one week later,i am glad i didnt.
i dont know how long ago you found out,but i know the first few weeks were the hardest for me. couldnt eat, sleep ,take care of my kids or myself.i honestly did not think i would survive. also if you havent already, i would get to the dr asap and get yourself checked out because STDs are rampant these days, and its always better to be safe than sorry. tell your dr or whoever you see about your situation. if depression becomes a problem, there are things to help that.
anyways,my heart goes out to you. there is alot of support here
1. I cried, I still cry a lot. But don't cry its not your fault. Its his fault.
2. Try counseling. It is really helping me and my H.
3. Don't' try to imagine what went on between them. Or he they did together. It only increases the pain. I did that too for the first few days. But now I try to avoid thinking that.
4. Accept he cheated. Don't' go to details. It only aches your heart more.
5. Cry cry cry. Break things if you want. throw things away. Let it out of ur system. I threw all the our wedding pics out. There is not a single wedding pic on the wall now.
6. Go to counseling immediately. It will help u deal with the initial shock.
7. If he is really sorry and wants the marriage to work, then he should go to counseling with u.
8. If he just says he's sorry, but don't go to counseling, then that is a red flag.
9. Come here and post as much as u want. There are many nice people here who helped me and are still helping me deal with the pain.
Anger is a natural process. It's what's done whith the anger that makes all the difference. I truly believe O J did it due to my state of anger/rage over a person not worth the time of day............
good luck
