Oh my gosh. I am so sorry. I know in the hospital I work in a woman after a miscarriage or God forbid a still born birth is placed never on the maternity ward but rather on a med/surg floor. I am sure your doctor has had it pointed out to them before but I would say it to them that it was awfully insensitive.

That was horrible, I m so sorry you had to experience that. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

That is a very awful thing to have to endure. Perhaps something should be said to them. It may not have occured to them. I am so so sorry that you had to go through that not just once, but twice. My prayers are with you.

I am so sorry for what you have been through. I know when I started going to the OB/GYN and started trying I told the doctor that they needed a separate entrance and waiting room for those who are going through infertility. That way we didn't have to sit in the waiting room with all the happy glowing pregnant women. I also asked to have a room that wasn't full of pictures of birth announcements.

I pray for you for healing of your heart.

I know exactly what you mean. My fertility clinic is in the same office as a obgyn. Sitting next to all the pregnant women and newborn babies hurts while waiting for an appointment to hear about how low a chance we have at having exactly that. When I asked the clinic director about it she said that its a small office and they use all the obgyn's next door and that no matter where you go your gonna see babies and pregnant women. Obviously she shops and eats at alot different places than I do.

FNP - it is so nice that your hospital does this on different floors.

This shot is not administered at my RE's office, I had to go to the hospital for it and it's done in the perinatal center. I'm not sure what all is done there but EVERYONE except me today was there for an ultrasound. It just seems very inconsiderate.

I know!!! I haven't had anything that extreme but I have been in several similar facilities. Thoughtless.

I am SO sorry!!! An old co-worker told me the story of when she gave birth to her second child. She was a couple of weeks over due and she went in for an u/s. There was a mix up at the doctors office and the u/s was moved to the afternoon. By the afternoon her baby had her first bowel movement, which is toxic. She had to deliver her daughter knowing she had passed away. They put her in a room with new mothers. She was crying hysterically and one of the nurses yelled at her because she was upsetting the other patients. If I was there, I may have punched the nurse in the face! (and I am probably one of the very least violent people I can think of!) ((okay, I may not have punched her but I sure have would of told her where to go and to move my friend OUT of that area!))

There is absolutely no reason they can not do the procedures in another area. I know they will give their reasoning about "staff and equipment" but they can move it and I am sure the nurses on another floor are more then capable.

Sorry. It infuriates me when someone is put through additional, unnecessary pain! I am very sorry for your losses and that you had to suffer more pain on top of them. {{{HUG}}}

I know!! My infertility consult a while back I sat there in the clinic as another women was showing her daughter the ultrasound going "that's your little brother sweetie" I wanted to die. I was sitting there waiting to see if I even can have children and this is what I have to listen to. I hate it that there are no RE's in my area. Its just wrong.

I know from experience that this is really hard. This helped me:

Closing eyes and thinking: I am not separate from pregnancy. I am not different from these women. I belong with the babies and mothers. I am a mother, in waiting. I belong here. I belong here. I belong here.

It can be so hard not to feel like an outcast, the grief is so hard. But you do, you belong there.

Wow, that sounds like a rough experience!!! I don't understand why they have to do these procedures on the maternity ward. You feel rotten enough after a m/c then you have to endure the added pain of seeing new mom with their babies. I agree someone in the medical field should be made aware of this. Try to make it a little less painful for those of us that suffer from infertility.

That is beyond acceptable. I would write an email or at least bring it up to your doc. I am so sorry for your losses.
