Hi there Roxy, it's so tough both physically and mentally following a MC, I am sorry you have to deal with this.

I got AF 5 weeks following my D & C, but i remember it took a little while for my beta to reach zero and the nurse at my RE's office suspected an infection might have been keeping the levels high (it was still at 30 3 weeks after the D & C) and she wanted me to go to my local GP to get things checked out. my GP did a smear, checked my temps etc and the results came back fine, no infection, so I didn't need to go on antibiotics.

My beta finally went down to just over zero one week later and the following week I got AF. So in my case AF arrived roughly a week after my levels dropped right down.

I am still not sure why my levels stayed up so high for so long, I think it's just something that varies from person to person. If you are at all worried about the length of time things are taking to settle or are feeling a little unwell it would pay to mention this to your RE just in case there is a chance of infection.

I know that this is a very uncertain time, I can remember feeling very anxious and just wanting my body to get back to 'normal'. Personally I found the physical side of having a MC a lot tougher then I expected. Good luck with everything, I wish you well.

Hi Roxy, I'm so sorry for what you're going through! I miscarried on Nov 19, 2011 (severe cramping, etc leading up to it), and got AF Dec 30, 2011. I dont know what my #s were, as my RE wanted me to have 2 periods on my own before we tried IUI again. Hope that helps- good luck :)

Roxy, mine started pretty much on schedule from the day I first started to MC. I'm usually 26-28 days, and it came on the 30th day from the day I last bled (MC). I had no idea either, but that's what happened in my case.

Thanks for your posts. I'm kind of confused. I had some bleeding when they game me meds but I'm not sure it really counts. My D&E was over two weeks ago and I haven't stopped bleeding yet and my beta still is high.
I guest I'll have to wait and see.

I had a natural mc then when my beta hit 7 I got my period right after like 3 days later. I hope that helps hang in there!!

It can really vary. After my first MC, it took 9 weeks. After my second MC, it took 6 weeks and after my third MC, it took 9 weeks again. I am so sorry for your loss. Hang in there.
