Ha, I remember thinking the same thing with my BFP. IVF takes the fun out of trying the good old fashion way.

My RE had oked sex after my BFP as long as I didn't get bleeding. She had told me not to worry to much if I spotted the next day, progesterone will sometimes cause spotting, but if I did spot, she wanted to know to decide if she was still oking it depending on the amount.

I think that all RE are a little different on their timeline. That being said, if you feel ok for sex, I say go for it. You got your BFP over a week ago. IF shouldn't take all the fun out of life.

I don't have the answer either, but definitely wanted to say Congrats on the BFP!!! Stick Baby Dust!!!!

I would ask if you are worried.....it may seem silly, but the things we go through for IF give us the right to ask those questions lol!!

I was stunned when my RE called me! anyways, on regards to your question- I don't have an answer, but my husband will be waiting a while! I waited until 13 weeks to have sex again. I didnt want to risk anything. My re said at 9 weeks it was ok as long as their wasn't alot of bleeding. I just chose to wait longer cause of all the hell it took me to get my bfp. I'm now 7 months with twins. So, I would wait. Congrats and goodluck wishing you a healthy pregnancy.

Our RE told us 2 weeks after transfer.

I waited until 12 weeks- I didn't get any advice from my RE on that, I just decided that for myself because I was so scared something would happen. That is the time I was comfortable with, which is a must when having sex. I didn't "hang for the chandeliers" either, took it easy. But later on in my second trimester, sex became more fun :) Those hormones do something to you!!! hehe Congrats on your BFP!

Congrats! My RE has said no sex until after you hear the heartbeat. Unfortunately I didn't get that far. Wishing you the best of luck!

my RE nurse said that I could resume normal activity after my beta had reached 1000. we chose to wait until after we saw/heard the heartbeat for the first time.

I don't understand the reasoning for waiting? I have never done IVF but people who get pregnant have sex before they hear the heartbeat. Why would it be any different? Just curious.

My RE would let us until 12 weeks. He had a lot of rules. :)

We waited to have sex tlll I was finished with the progesterone suppositories, because it made sex very very painful. But I believe it was ok after I heard the heartbeat.

On my after transfer sheet it says no sex or orgasm until after the first ultrasound to confirm pregnancy. Not sure what that intells in weeks term.
