Hi all! This is my first time joining a support group so I really don't know exactly how it works. But I'll tell you my story.

First of all, I'm the proud mother of a two and a half year old princess. I'm BEYOND thankful for that!

When my husband and I first decided to try and conceive I went off birth control (I was on the patch). I didn't get a period that month. My first thought was "OMG! I didn't expect it to happen that soon!" Even though I didn't get a period, the pregnancy tests were negative. I went 2 months without a period, then got one, then didn't. My period was very irregular for just under a year. During this time I had blood work done as well as an ultrasound of my ovaries. I was referred by my GP to a gynecologist as she was unable to figure out why I was so irregular. To make a long story short, once I got in to see him he put me on progesterone. That made my periods regular. After 4 months of progesterone he decided to put me on 50mg of serophene on days 5-9 of my cycle. I was on serophene (and progesterone) for another 4 months when I finally got a positive test!

Fast forward 9 months and my precious little girl was born.

So, because I had some difficulty getting pregnant the first time my husband and I decided to start trying for another baby when my daughter was about 6 months old. Since I had her, my periods were very regular every month. After trying for a year I decided to go back to my OBGYN for help. He put me on 50mg of serophene again. After about 4 months he added Metformin. After being on serophene and Metformin for about 5 more months he decided to up my dose to 100mg of serophene on days 5-9 of my cycle. Another 3 months goes by and he gets me to take 100mg of serophene on days 3-9. Still nothing, so he does a HSG test and everything was fine.

So in total, it's been 2 years since trying to concieve with regular periods, timed intercourse, fertility meds (double the dose I was previously on), my HSG test was fine, blood work shows that I ovulate, and my husband's semen analysis was fine.

This whole situation has been very stressful on my relationship with my husband. Intercourse is no longer spontaneous. It's like a part time job. I feel like he doesn't understand the frustrations that go along with fertility issues and isn't very sympathetic or sensitive to the whole situation. Then again, he is a guy and isn't going to sit and cry with me about this.

I'm also concerned about the length of time that I've been taking Serophene. When I read about it online it suggests not taking it for longer than 3 months. If there's no point in me taking this medication then I don't want to.

It's extremely frustrating being told that everything is "normal" and there's no explanation. .

I don't want anyone to think that I'm ungrateful because I was able to have a child. And believe me, I'm SO thankful that she's here. I tell myself everyday that I'm more than blessed to have my daughter.

I guess I don't have anything specific to ask you all. It's just nice to know I'm not alone and will welcome any suggestions/advice.
