Nevermind, I found the list and Minnesota is not on it!

It doesn't always matter what state you live in, it's what state the policy is written out of. So you could live in Minnesota but if your insurance policy is written out of a state with mandatory IVF coverage you'll have coverage. Also, if the company has self-funded insurance they are not bound by any state law. This usually happens with larger companies. Hoping it works out for you!! I know how insurance coverage sucks!!

illinois state legislature mandates IF coverage. family video has anthem insurance through IL since thats where the company is based. you should have some of their stores in ky.

I know that Maryland has mandated infertility coverage but your company that you work for can't be self funded.

I know New york does, because for years I had ins. through maine and I lived in NY now I live in PA and have insurance through NY. Stupid I know.... why doesn't that idiot president put that in his bill... no they only cover to get rid of perfectly healthy babies... not help those who would die to have one... sorry thats a sore subject with me.

I'm a little confused by the PP who says NY has coverage. I live in NY and none of my IVF is covered. I know they covered my IUI's years ago. Now they just cover BW & U/S for my IVF, npt any of the procedure. If anyone knows differntly let me know. Maybe my ins. is just trying to screw me!

I live in Connecticut,which is one of 12 states that covers infertility treatments-- but since my husband's employer is self insured, they can diagnose infertility, but not treat it. ARGH!!!!
Canada (B.C.) charges $10,000 for IVF, including ICSI which I am looking into. This is was residents and non-residents pay--because infertility is not covered there anyway...even with universal health care coverage. My question is, why is Connecticut's costs $20,000 more??? We were quoted $30,000 with ICSI.

Lumiere74---Where are you going for treatment? We are also in CT and we looked into Yale and UCONN and I thought the prices were less than $20,000. We have AWESOME insurance that covers IUI's, IVF and anything related 100% and we ended up pregnant at home with no meds (same sex relationship so we did have to buy sperm) but I really thought the price for IVF was a lot less!!!! Really? We have aetna...but my husband's employer is self-insuring. We went to the UCONN info session, this is what we were quoted with IVF and ICSI. So, my ob-gyn told me to think about donor sperm too because of the costs...I have friends (same sex couple too)that did IUI and got pregnant with donor sperm. Are you saying you did it at home..? Did you have to use any of the meds? Which cryo bank did you use if you don't mind me asking? Thank you!!!
