I am a little confused right now...I should have started my period within the past week. Saturday I spotted a little. Enough that I thought for sure sunday morning it would be full force AF. I am still not having a "normal" period. First thing in the morning when I go the the bathroom there is kind of "rust" colored whatever. Then I might spot a couple times during the day but that's it. I am on day 36 right now, I started working out this month, and also have been just a tad bit stressed at work. Has anyone else had this happen around when there period is due?? I have also had a little bit of back ache and some cramping, along with anxiousness and maybe some irritability. So pretty much PMS. I know that typically I ovulate later in the month but still I thought I ovulated on or around day 17. Which means on should have started on day 34 right??

Sweetie those sound like pregnancy symptoms to me. PMS is sometimes related to high progesterone levels so .... I say Time for an HPT. Good luck!

I would definitely check for a HPT, and hopefully it is good news! If it is not pregnancy, then it is possible that you had an anovulatory cycle. I've had this happen to me several times - I get a couple days of intermittent, light spotting "around" the time AF is due. But then she doesn't come, and sometimes not for 2-6 weeks later. So those cycles I didn't ovulate - that's why I'm now on Clomid. Take Care!

what is a anovulatory cycle mean?

A cycle where you didn't ovulate. Can happen from stress, hormonal imbalance, drastic change in weight or exercise, etc., etc.

I thought I had all the ovulating symptoms. hmmm maybe it was all in my head. So it would be normal to spot even if you didnt ovulate?

My last cycle was 54+ days and I ended up having to go on provera to get AF started. I had never ever had a cycle that long before and was typically 25-28 days regularly. I was also spotting on and off for two weeks during this time. What a PIA that was. Like dealing with IF isn't bad enough without AF being MIA. In any case, if you've done the HPT and you know it's no + then I hope AF shows up QUICKLY so you can move forward with your next cycle. Hugs.
