I have a son who is now 8 years old. My husband and I began trying for another baby when he turned 1. It's been 7 1/2 years since I threw out the birth control, and I haven't been regular since. I was diagnosed with PCOS, but my doctor wouldn't do anything as far as fertility treatments. She mentioned Clomid but didn't prescribe it.
Because of the cost of fertility treatments, my husband says absolutely not (even though Clomid is inexpensive and we've known several people who used it and got pregnant).
About 2 months ago, my sister-in-law and I were talking about my infertility, and she told me that her doctor mentioned something about B12 and folic acid helping with fertility. She actually got pregnant while on birth control, and the only thing she was taking aside from the pill was a tablet of B12/folic acid everyday.
Anyway, I figured it couldn't hurt to take it and promised myself I wouldn't get my hopes up. I've been taking the same kind she took, and they have 33,333% USRDA (can't remember what that stands for, I'm sorry). They also have 200% USRDA of folic acid, and 250% USRDA of B6. Along with that, I'm taking a daily multivitamin (generic brand that compares to One A Day Energy).
I have been having 36-46 day cycles for a few years now, although sometimes I wouldn't have a period for months at a time. I have been pregnant a few times over the past 7 1/2 years, but by my first appointments I would already be having a miscarriage.
Since I started taking all the vitamins, my first menstrual cycle was 27 days long (I started taking them during my period), and I just started my second period since I began the daily vitamins. This past menstrual cycle was 28 days.
Has anyone else ever heard of this? I'm not pregnant, but to me it looks like a start in the right direction. I've tried finding information on it, but I didn't find much. Can a vitamin deficiency cause PCOS symptoms? Can it cause infertility and miscarriages?
Thanks for any feedback anyone has to offer.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Yesterday I started my AF again, this cycle was 29 days!! I am still taking the same stuff, and things have been absolutely NORMAL! My acne is very mild to almost non-existent, and it has been that way for a while now. Dandruff is gone completely without the use of dandruff shampoo- I don't miss that stuff! The teensy bits of facial hair I had before are gone as well. All of that since I started on the vitamins and huge doses of B12. No pregnancy yet, but we're not really "trying" anymore. We decided that if it happens, it happens. If not, we'll adopt. But things are definitely changing with my body, and it really seems like all of my PCOS symptoms are going away. Of course, if I do end up pregnant, I will be posting that right away. Even if the doctors don't believe that it's helping, taking the extra vitamins isn't going to hurt.
