I was always given a specific time to do the IUI so if my appointment would be at 8:45 AM on Tuesday I would have triggered at 8:45 PM on Sunday (always 36 hours before the IUI). Maybe some of the other ladies here had a time frame like you since all REs seem to have a little different protocol. Good luck!

my doc always says ur going to ovulate 36 to 48 hrs after the shot....but for me i always did at 28hrs, 31hrs and this last time it was around41hrs.....everyone is different! Sometimes it depends what the issue is, male factor or female factor

I'm glad you posted this question because it gave me some answers too! Maybe we can be 2ww buddies. I am having another US on Monday. If that looks good I will have my trigger that day and my IUI Tuesday or Wednesday! Hoping and praying we both get our BFPs this month! Best of luck!

We did not do a trigger shot with our IUI, just tested for the LH surge and went in two days in a row for IUI. With IVF it is always an exact time because ER is scheduled for exactly 36 hours after the shot. Maybe trigger at 8:00 so you are right in the middle of the time frame. Good luck!

I was always told between 6 and 9 pm and IUI two days later. So I'll probably trigger Monday, drop off Wed between 7-7:30 and my appointment isn't until 10. I thought that that was ALOT of time in between. I have always done the shot at 7:30 right in the middle, but I feel I ovulated before the actual IUI so this time I am going to wait until 9.

Hmmm... Interesting question. I've only done the trigger shot twice (Ovidrel both times). I was given a specific time- both at 9pm.

During this last ER, the anesthesiologist did show up. There was some mix up in their work scheduling. So we had to wait about an hour for him to get there. I was a little worried about that and I think the RE sensed this. He made sure to stop in during the wait and tell me that it was totally fine that we were running an hour behind because there was a 4 hour window before they were concerned of ovulation. I don't totally get what he was saying, but it does make a little sense that they would account for possible mishaps in the timing of ovulation and the trigger shot.

Worst comes to worst, I know that they can tell if you already ovulated when it comes to the procedure you are going through.

I've only had IUI once. I got my trigger at the last minute.(had to do it in office the day after Thanksgiving w/IUI following Sat morning)
I got it less than 24 hours before the IUI. I'm not recommending what I did to anyone, I may have just not needed it. We'll never know. It worked though, 26 weeks.. yay! Don't worry too much, the docs know what they're doing!

I just wanted to thank everyone again for your input on this. I took your advice and did the shot exactly 36 hours before my appt. I had my IUI this morning and my RE said I was ovulating right then! I'm so hopeful that it will work this time!

I was given a 1 hour time frame. My RE said all this did was to allow for me to either make it to a private place or allow time to be home.
