bright5tara - I am sorry to know your story. You might undergo IVF PGS NGS, that is highly recommended in case of ladies aged 37+ cos of aneuploidies, that were the reason of your pregnancy loss. If you want to undergo IVF DE, you might go to European clinics, that do not restrict the age of women. Good luck

bright5tara - I am sorry you are going through this. I agree, mc rates are very high at women who are 40+, and IVF PGS NGS or with donor eggs might be solution. I would recommend discussing with your doc what option is the best for you. As you wrote IVF DE is very expensive in the US, but IVF clinics get the highest success rates. You might consider undergoing IVF with donor eggs in Europe, where prices are more pocket-friendly.

giftformeriel - I fully agree with you. From what I have read max age of a woman who wants to undergo IVF (also DE, PGS NGS) is 50, and this is accepted by most clinics. Althought a few clinics do not limit the age of women at all.

giftformeriel - agreed, I have also read a few articles about mitochondrial donation method and mesotherapy to ovaries that will help women with poor ovarian reserve to conceive via IVF OE

giftformeriel - thanks for link sharing. Do you know which clinics in Europe (Czech Rep, Poland or Russia) offer mitochondria replacement therapy/? I know nobody in Ukraine, but in Czech Rep and Poland I have many friends, and I would be happy to combine treatment with visiting them.

bright5tara- If you want to increase your chanced of getting pregnant, you might combine your treatment with PGS NGS, that might be one of the options, if you do not want to go down the IVF DE route.

bright5tara - I am sorry you lost your pregnancy. As I mentioned above a lot of depends on a woman's health and her ovarian reserve. Docs usually recommend doing karyotyping if a woman is at advanced maternal age. If you want to increase your chances your might consider doing karyotyping, or undergoing IVF PGS NGS of with donor eggs if ovarian reserve is the issue. Good luck

Trying for a baby is hard. Trying for a baby when you're 40+... Well, let's just say it's very hard. Usually, people of your age have children. Everyone around, siblings, friends, coworkers, neighbors - all of them have kids. Some of them have a whole football team. And you're standing still watching them raise their children. You have to go through a family event or a dinner with friends without a mental breakdown. Trying for a baby when you're 40+is tough and devastating. I had 5 failed cycles of IVF. And each time someone asked "So what are you waiting for? Don't you want to be a mommy?" I wanted to punch them right into the face. I'm so glad the struggle is over as I'm pregnant and expecting my baby. I had to go through 5 IVF cycles and 1 cycle of mitochondrial donation to become a mom... Honestly this's hard to believe there will be no treatments, cycles, shots, medications, depressions, breakdowns, etc.
