I was given an option for IVF as an only way to conceive but since i conceived once naturally now my doctor wants me to try for 1 more year before i go for high tech procedures but since my husband travels for work we have lot of breaks.
I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I can't believe that your doctor wants you to wait for another year. Doesn't it just feel like a waste of time? You have known fertility issues, you should be able to start treatment earlier if you want. Do you take anything to promote ovulation?
I can't imagine how terrible it is for you to have lost your baby at 32 weeks. My heart goes out to you.
I will try using clomid when my husband is back home after about a month, but for now I am on a break, but I feel so upset when my cycles go wasted without trying.
It's hard to take a forced break, but much worse when you know that you need all the time you can get. :(
Does anyone at work ask about your doctors appointments and if so what do you tell them? My boss asked me if everything was okay today (and she is not a person I would share this with) I just told her I had some medical issues going on and that I'm going to have to go to the doctor often. She asked what it was if I felt comfortable telling her and I said no. She was fine with that and receptive. Do you deal with work people being curious about your doctors appointments too?
My husband is leaving again at the end of this month for three months and it's nice to know that we can still try while he's gone. Are you going to try the IUI?
It's so funny that you mentioned curious people at work. My boss completely shocked me when I went back to work. I had a note from the ER explaining only that I'd miss two days, no explanation as to why. My boss approached me in front of my co-workers, and said, "What illness did you have?" I couldn't believe he would be so bold and inconsiderate. I told him, "I don't want to talk about it." Then he gave me some explanation about how he needs to report reasons for employees missing work blah blah blah. So I said, "It's not an illness, and it's not contagious." And he left me alone after that. The worst part of this is, we work in healthcare! He is very aware of HIPAA. It is completely inappropriate for him to ask me that, let alone in front of my co-workers. A few hours later I thought of the perfect response. I should have said, "if you are telling me that I have to disclose my personal medical information, then I want to see that in writing." That would have shut him up quick.
I'm glad you stuck to your guns with your boss (mine is not the type I feel comfortable sharing with either; he's got a HUGE mouth). I feel like your boss gave a very professional response. You do not have to tell them why you are going. Are your other co-workers as curious?
I'm actually kind of excited about missing more work for appointments, because I know that it will drive my boss crazy that he doesn't know why. Ha! Is my attitude a little snarky? Maybe. ;)
I am very fortunate to be in an intermittent position at work. I don't have regularly scheduled hours, and I don't earn leave, but neither can they prevent me from taking days off when I chose. I don't anticipate too much of a fight over going to my appointments, but I know that the curiosity will just eat my boss up.
Best of luck and hang in there you're not alone !!!
