FIRST SORRY FOR THE CAPS, BUT I USE THEM FOR MY JOB...

OK SO DR. SILBERS OFFICE CALLED. I CAN STICK WITH THE PROGESTERONE SUPTHAT IS FINE. BUT NOW I HAVE ANOTHER ISSUE THAT IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE DEALT WITH.

DR. RICHARDSON (ENDO) WANTS ME TO START METFORMIN

DR. SILBER (RE) TELLS ALL OF HIS PATIENTS THAT ARE ON METFORMIN TO STOP TAKING IT BEFORE GOING THROUGH IVF

SO RIGHT NOW I AM IN A STAND STILL. THEY WILL TALK TO DR. SILBER NEXT WEEK TO FIND OUT WHAT HE WANTS TO DO. AND DR. RICHARDSON WILL CALL ME BACK TOMORROW AND LET ME KNOW IF I SHOULD START ANYWAY AND THEN STOP WHEN I GET CLOSER TO IVF OR IF I SHOULD JUST HOLD OFF ON STARTING.

I AM SO CONFUSED

is it possible to find and re in your area that can treat both conditions at once so simplify?

my RE strongly believes that the treatment for PCOS is IVF which we are already doing. He says that the Metformin can interfere with the other medications we are on and that as of yet there isn't enough studies to prove it is 100% safe for any baby conceived. He must be doing something right because he's one of the best in the country. It's just frustrating to get 2 different opinions. I guess that is what happens when you have 1 Dr. treating the IF and the other is treating the insulin resistance. I also don't trust the other REs in my area as much...kinda got spoiled with Dr. Silber first time around. I should have an answer to what I should or should not take by next week. In the mean time I will be drinking lots of parsley tea.

i remember a while ago you posted about trying to lose weight but with the PCOS it's a catch 22 b/c it's hard to lose weight-(i'm in the same boat) is that why he put you on the metformin?

my dr put me on that a while back and unfort i wasn't one of the lucky people but i've heard that being on it poeple have lost a LOT of weight quickly and fairly easily..it's a sensitive subject so I hope I worded that correctly-i just wanted to see if there are any other factors involved with the dr's reasoning.
