It seems like there's just one test after another when it comes to all this infertility stuff. I did not conceive with my first IUI attempt, so the Dr. did a biopsy of my endometrial lining last Wed. to determine if I have any signs of endometriosis within the uterus, if I am ovulating (which we already know from progesterone tests), and if the lining is sufficient to allow the embryo to implant. All of which are treatable if found... Thankfully! They had me do a fasting test to determine if I am still borderline Metabolic Syndrome. I should find out results sometime this week...
I just scheduled an appt with a new RE in a completely different city and state because mine is retiring and the practice is closing the end of this year. I have that appt on Dec. 14th.... Has anyone else had to change Dr's in the middle of your treatments? If so, did you notice much of a difference? Mine will be an extra 30 mins to my commute each way....
And I feel so bad, I got a message from my mother-in-law this morning to let me know that a friend of mine who was due on 12/24 was in the hospital and expected to deliver today.. and I just thought, "yea, so?" Seriously?? That's not like me... I should be concerned.. happy, excited, and eager to meet the baby... but this will be baby number 3 within 3 months... ugh! When will it be my turn???

About your ambivalence toward your friend's pregnancy/delivery, I totally understand. I have lots of friends who have recently given birth or who are currently pregnant and I really don't get excited about it anymore like I used to. I was just talking to my sister about it yesterday...IF is so consuming and I simply am numb to those more fortunate than me (probably a defense mechanism).
