I and my husband has been trying for more than 4 years now..
In the beginning of our journey, I was diagnosed with PCOS(cysts on ovaries), but I was ovulating did various cycles of clomid, 6IUIs and then in between this I also did laparoscopy to remove the cysts and found that I had little endometriosis as well.
Then we moved onto IVF and the first time, the result was negative and dr. found uterine polyp, so I went through a hysteroscopy to remove it and after a month, I did FET with the remaining frozen embryos and this time it stuck.. I just got my positive result yesterday, I hope it is to stay, but I always felt like the BFP always eluded me and now I can't believe it.. so don't be sad , persist and hopefully you will get a BFP too soon.
My hubby and I tried for two years. Tests galore. Unexplained. It's not a fun "diagnosis" because I felt out of control. I knew we needed IVF, but arriving at the decision to actually do it, was hard. Plus, my company did not offer coverage. So I asked for it. It took 11 months to get an answer, but it was a yes, and by then I was so ready to jump in, that I wasn't too scared anymore. The waiting and the testing is so hard and nerve racking, and you are almost through it, so pat yourself on the back. As much as I hated being unexplained and hearing how wonderful all my lady bits were, I did find that to be a good thing in the long run. We did one round of IVF and I'm currently 12 weeks right now. I consider that a huge success. Of course getting pregnant naturally was always a dream, but plans changed and I had to ride with it. So only needing one round was a blessing. Worth every injection.
I hope you are your hubby get through these last round of tests easily and whatever your next steps are, they are successful!
Of course yesterday, I found out about two more people who are pregnant- one who claimed she was on birth control pills- I just don't get it! Oh well... gotta learn to just focus on me versus comparing myself to other people. Easier said than done, though!
I am so sorry you are going through this too! Your story sounds very familiar. I am happy to say that we are a success story! Like you we tried for a year before starting with an RE. I had all the tests done and all was clear aside from a tilted uterus and thin lining. My husband also was all clear so we are part of the unexplained IF group. We ended up doing 3 IUIs, one just with timing and 1 with femara and one with femara and injections. None of them worked for us. I then finally had a Lap done - which I pressed for - and they found a small septum in my uterus right by my cervix. That was removed in April and we conceived in July naturally. I don't know if it was the surgery - the doc said he didn't think the septum should have prevented pregnancy, but there was no way to tell - or that I started taking several supplements to help my uterus become more implant friendly, or both. I can say it felt like a miracle and we still have no idea why we couldn't conceive before that. In all it took us 2yr 8mo to conceive our first.
I hope your journey is a lot shorter than ours and you get some answers, even if they are not necessarily what you want to hear. It is easier to move on with a definite diagnosis than to be told they have no idea. Good luck and feel free to ask us anything!
My husband and I have been trying for the entire time we've been married, which is over 3 years. Just like you, I want a child more than anything in this world!
This journey can be very frustrating, however, I am not giving up hope. In my case, my hubby had sperm analysis done twice ,and he has low count and low morphology. He is currently on supplements to improve his sperm, so we'll see. No problems were found on my end.
I know you are looking for a positive story. As someone who has been on this journey for 3 years, i know what it's like. A year can feel like a really looong time.
I have been obsessed about this pregnancy thing at first. And who can blame me, becoming a parent is my biggest dream. It is disappointing to hear about other people getting pregnant who didn't want the baby at all! For example, hearing my coworker complain about getting pregnant while on IUD and having a baby she didn't want! Or a lady with the same ovulation date as mine who walked into my clinic (I work in Planned Parenthood). I was praying i would get pregnant, but I didn't. She did instead, and she is getting an abortion!
Lately i have decided to just let it go and just be in the moment. Clearly, God has other plans for me right now. The best thing I can do is to focus on my wonderful husband and my marriage ( childless but still amazing), and just stay positive..Our plan is to do another sperm analysis soon, and then try IUI.
