I had my 4th IUI this morning and I was really disappointed with DH's counts. I didn't let him know but when I saw the numbers my heart sunk. He started off with higher numbers this time but after the wash they were lower than last time. We had 15 million with 90% motility post wash. The RE said they were fine but I've read so many of your posts with much higher counts. Has anyone had success with numbers like these or lower?

Well at my DH's last semen count he only had 4.5 million. And they think his count is continuing to lower. We are in a 2WW of an IVF cycle and we had two perfect embryos transfered - I know that is different from your situation but you can at least take comfort knowing that his count isn't so severe! GL!

I am using donor sperm and asked about this actually. My RE said that 20 million is what the cut off is for "what they hope". She said that studies show any more than 20 million have the same results as 20 million. Motility does matter though. Are you able to ask your RE if it is playing a role? I wish you the best

We've always had over 20 million until this cycle. The weird thing is that this cycle he had more to start with but the wash knocked out 21 million of them. I did ask the RE yesterday and he said everything looked fine. Poor morphology is the reason for our IF.

Pre-Wash my DH has 22 million with 75% motility. Post-Wash, those numbers were at 17 million with 85& motility. Your numbers still sound really pretty good. There are some women with less than 1 million sperm who get pregnant. Think of it this way, you have 15 million sperm in there, so that is 14,999,999 more than you need! GL!!

Those sound like good numbers post wash. Remember, it only takes one really good swimmer! I am praying one gets to your egg and sending sticky baby dust!

I haven't done IUI yet, but am probably going to try that this cycle. I have been reading a lot about it and it seems that 20 mil is a good number, but anything over 5 is acceptable.

My H has a very low number and it has risen up to 5.5 this time. It is all I can do to stay hopeful. I did manage to get a BFP (but m/c) w/o IUI when his count was only 2mil, so like everyone says; it only takes one. Good luck!
