I'm at the end of my 2ww, beta is on Thurs. The last 2 IVF cycles I didn't use a HPT. And all day after the beta I was jumpy and anxious waiting for the call (by the way both were BFN's). So I thought maybe this time I should test so I can be better prepared, but then again I am soooo scared of seeing a negative. So the question is, should I test before my beta? Did alot of you do that? What do you guys think? Also, will it be accurate? My trigger was on 7/8. Thank you for any input you ladies might have.

I think that it is a personal decision whether or not to take an HPT before. I couldn't do it before I went for my BETA. I didn't want to hear bad news 2x if that was the case. I got my BFP last November and took the HPT the next morning just to have more confirmation. If it was me, I would hold off, but I know I was anxious to find out. Sorry I didn't have an answer for you but good luck in your decision and with your BETA.

I couldn't wait and tested 2 days before my beta, and it was a struggle to wait that long! I hear a lot of people get a negative HPT but a positive beta, so its probably better to wait to be sure. Beta is more accurate.

I tested before my BETA. I waited until the day before my BETA to test. I was nervous as well but it made me feel so much better to know ahead of time that way I could grieve on my own and not be a nervous reck the day of my beta. GL! I hope you get your BFP!

It is your choice,I had to test. My beta was scheduled for x-mas eve and I wanted to know before hand what kind of x-mas it was going to be. Good luck.

I didn't test with IVF#1 and got BFN with BETA. IVF#2, I just had a feeling that I needed to test. Got a BFP! But it is truely up to you. I tested earlier than most suggest, but still positive.

I tested 7 days after transfer but didn't have a trigger shot. I just coudn't stand it. First time was was BFN and think I was more prepared for the call. Second time tested got a BFP. Its all a personal choice. Just remember if you do test there are false negatives but no false positives if your trigger is gone. GL!
