Well I had cramps or pinches after retrival but it really wasn't all that bad. I know I've heard that the more eggs you have the more chances you'll have discomfort.
The shots to me feel wort than retrival or transfert.

I overstimmed but they seemed to think I didn't actually get hyperstimulation syndrome, anyway I was super tired on the day of retrieval from the drugs and then vomited all day the next day then I got really bloated and uncomfortable. But some of this im sure is down to the over stimulating.
Everyone seems to be different but I think the drugs screwed with me the most, I don't do well on any sort of sedative or anaesthetic!

Both mine weren't bad, but my body responds fine to being knocked out. Mild cramping afterward, but that is about it. Drink lots of fluids, which sometimes adds to the discomfort, but you need it.

My mouth was hideously dry after the retrieval...I guess due to the anesthetic? It took almost 24 hours before I could swallow normally again. I've had some cramping and sort of a swollen feeling which was worse than when I was on the stim meds but not unbearable. Then again I haven't been shy about taking the hydrocodone they sent me home with either! I've been drinking lots and lots of water, which seems to help. Best of luck to you!!!!

I had a little bit of pain and discomfort the day of retrieval but it wasn't something a little bit of tylenol couldn't take care of. For me the real pain came the day after. The Dr. didn't specify how much to take it easy and I over did things and I did have a slight case of OHSS and I felt rotton for two straight days and just stayed in bed. So if we do another retrieval I will over exaggerate on my interpretation of "taking it easy" and have LOTS of couch potato time.

Not a problem for me- just took tylenol. Right after the procedure I hurt the most, but really, it wasn't too bad. Felt just fine a day after... Best of luck!

Thank you ladies for you helpful input and responses. I had my last ultrasound today and retrieval will take place monday. I have 15 follis on one side and 8 on the other I am super excited. I am thinking of freezing some that way I dont have to go through the whole process again. We are hopeful that this is it!! Will keep you ladies posted. Hi - this is all very helpful to me too...I am having my trigger injection tonight with retrieval on Thursday! I am at risk of OHSS, so might be freezing all my embryos though as I have 23 follicles and apparently this increases the risk. I will find out on Thursday but hoping for lots of beautiful embryos either way. Good luck Lineth - you are just a day ahead of me!

Thank you Chefgurrl, Ladies retrieval went great we had a little scare when we got there, nurse said I should of taken shot at 10:30 and I took it @ 8 but Thank God that I still had not ovulated they retrieved 19 and 9 got fertilized. I was crampy pretty bad that whole day and took the next day off from work to rest. My husband and I are excited and hopeful. I will have the transfer done on monday. Hey ladies just a quick update retrieval was ok sore for a couple of days but not too bad. monday nov 4th was my transfer and pregnancy test is scheduled for nov 28th. excited and anxious. good luck ladies
