Hey I was in pretty good pain for at least a week. Mine was like intense bloating/cramping/pressure. I also had to pee every 15-20 minutes because as soon as my bladder started exanding it cause too much pressure and would really hurt!

I think being rather sore and tender for a week or so is probably normal. You have to remember your ovaries went from their normal size to an egg, orange or even bigger size depending on the number of follies you had. So them shrinking back down is going to take some time and make them tender. Also if you are slightly overstimulated before ER, it can cause more pain after ER.

If the pain continues, or gets worse, it does not hurt to call your REs office and talk to one of the nurses. They have a better idea of whats normal or not.

Sorry your having pain Endo......I had zero pain, just some from the Ovulation right before the ER but they gave me an 800Mg of Motrin so that really helped. I felt like my ovaries were on fire prior to the ER, but felt fine afterward with just some bloating.......Sorry your still having pain.....I had minimal. They said I could have the motrin that one time only....but it helped.

So sorry you're hurting. I haven't been through this procedure yet, so I can't speak from personal experience, but some of your pain could be from the meds feeding/aggravating your endo. I was told to expect a pretty rough ride during IVF with my endo. Hope you feel better soon. Can't wait to hear your good news!

Sorry to hear you're still hurting. I didn't have any severe pain but I do remember thinking that jumping would probably hurt pretty bad. When I would take my dog for a walk, I couldn't walk fast with her like usual. I just took everything slow and spent time on the couch with a heating pad and it got better after a few days.

I remember I felt very full and tender...I walked slowly, and I really couldn't bend or sit well. I also had to pee often. It got easier at the end of the day, but I also still felt soreness on either side (presumably from my ovaries) for the remainder of the week (my ER was on a Monday).

Thank you. I just watched Season 2 of Giuliana and Bill (streaming on Netflix), and was curious to find that her friend told it to her straight: IVF is very invasive, the surgery is not fun, and it may not work. Her friend I believe was on her 5th attempt.

DH laughs that I am shocked the ER pain lingered. His words? How did you think they would remove the eggs?

I wouldn't change a thing: I just entered the 2ww, and am very excited about the next chapter of our lives.

I was very sore and uncomfortable after my ER. I had 20 follicles and my ovaries were about the size of lemons...maybe bigger. The doctor told me that it would last for a couple of days. I had to take the time off of work (I'm a teacher) and it hurt for me to move....sitting, changing positions on the couch, even sleeping was difficult. I imagine it will be like that at the end of my (hopeful) pregnancy. I did read that gatorade helps so I started drinking that on day 2 and I definitely think it helped relieve some of the pressure. The pain was like extreme gas/bloating/constipation....I couldn't even touch my stomach and I looked very pregnant. Don't I wish. Heating pads....gatorade....and lots of rest. Once I did the embryo transfer I've felt better. I had a 3dt.

Yeah, Gatorade. Called doc today as my rt ovary still hurts. Hurts to pee right now. They put me on a protein drink. Ensure, anyone?

DH thinks I am bloated enough today, now add 250 calorie beverages as my only source of liquid?
