Hey Everyone,
I am/was in the midst of IUI#2 and took letrozole this time, as I did for IUI#1. For the first IUI my right ovary responded spectacularly and I got a really good mature egg ready on CD 11 and my left ovary had a maturing folicle that wasn't ready but was an ok size. Last month we had to sit out due to cysts on my right ovary. This month at my baseline ultrasound my left ovary showed little folicles beginning to develop and I took the letrozole as directed. Today is CD12 and I just had my ultrasound this morning to see how everything was going and low and behold NOTHING! My right ovary was completely silent and my left still had its tiny little undeveloped folicles just as it had at my baseline. They told me to come back in a week and we're going to do another ultrasound to see if anything has developed but they think it unlikely.
Has anyone had this problem? Up until now my diagnosis was "unexplained," but maybe it's not so unexplainable now? I don't know.
I would appreciate any suggestions/stories from you all.

My wife was diagnosed with Ovulatory Dysfunction..........she responded really good to Follistim. Developed multiple mature follicles on both ovaries each round we did the meds. Followed the second round with an IUI but no luck. Has your RE recommended another drug? Maybe up the dosage?

She said going the injectable meds should help but that was all I could get out of her.

So sorry you didn't have anything!! How devastating. Has your AMH been checked? I asked because this is part of my issue, I have a very low reserve. Because of my low reserve, I wouldn't produce as many mature eggs as a normal person would with lots of drugs, but I have responded well to the letrozole and follistim. Another option is just that the letrozole isn't the drug your body likes. An injectible like follistim would probably be your next option, but can get pretty pricey. Good luck!

I had a similar issue. I responded well to Gonal F (fairly high dose). Hopefully, you find something that works well for you!!!

Hey Nellysgirl, Thanks for the response. Yes I had my AMH levels checked and I apparently have a good reserve. I think I am going to try the injections next month. Hopefully my body will respond better to those.
