Has anyone, or know of anyone, who has done ONE round of IVF and it worked???? I'm on my first cycle and just trying to figure out my odds here. My retrieval date is in two weeks and implant is on the 11th...if everything goes according to the calendar....but let's face it...nothing goes according to the calendar.

First off, good luck on your IVF cycle! I did one round of IVF and have a happy 1 year old boy. There were difficulties on the journey but here's a success story! I know of several others who got a BFP their first round as well.

I got my bfp on the first try...I transferred two embryos and became pregnant with a healthy baby boy who is now 3 years old! I also have an almost one year old baby girl after two FET attempts. I transferred just one embryo with the FETs. Good luck to you!

I wasn't quite so lucky, however a good friend and coworker of mine got her BFP in her first round of IVF after transferring 3 embryos. She now has a 5 year old son from that cycle.

I did my first cycle at 40 and it worked. Got our beautiful daughter from that cycle - so it can work the first time.

We did one fresh cycle IVF almost two years ago and it worked. We have a beautiful IVF blessing and he will be two yrs old in a few months. Be encouraged friend:0) Those ONE round only moments happen quite a bit and you very well could fall in this category. It's not as rare as it may seem. Yes,there are a lot of heartbreaking soul crushing stories here in DS world in these groups full of amazing wonderful strong ladies. I have a few sad stories of failed attempts since our one successful IVF too. But that first time out of the gate with all of this for our family is a beautiful story and such a blessing to us. *HUG! Yes, quite a few people. Actually I was the first person I knew that it didn't work.

My good friend has never not succeeded at IVF, and she had unexplained infertility. All the couples I know from work had kids with each IVF cycle they did. And the one lady was given a 17% chance of success and was told with all her issues, she only had one shot. I could go on. You get it!! Anyway, the thing is all of these people had lots of failed IUI's, but IVF was their thing. Some people have to work the first time, so the numbers are good as they are! Good luck!

Thanks guys!!! I know no one goes into IVF thinking..."this is not going to work" but I just want to prepare myself. I have a strong feeling that this is going to work...but I've had disappointments before and I don't want to go through that again.
