but I know the other feeling ALL too well.....and people always want to get personal about why we adopted etc...I would like your wooden mallet idea to BONK them on the HEAD!
Questions like this would make me mad- like the Uncle I see once a year would ask me this. So I'd be somewhat vulgar and say, "We sure are practicing a lot!!" If it wasn't a random person, or if this was the second time they have asked, I also would throw in "but it just isn't working our for us. So it is a pretty upsetting situation for us" It would make them feel dumb, and never ask me again. Not everyone likes to share that type of personal stuff, but my husband and I were okay with it. I also hope my snarky comments stopped people from saying things like this to other couples!! We all know you can't just call up a stork and get a baby, apparently some people need to be reminded of that.
I have used often, "well, I am not sure nature has that in store for us." They normally change the subject.
Good luck!
