I was on Femara (Letrozole) as well, but though I went through some mood swings, I never got depressed. However, I get go through some crying spells when it didn't matter where I was, I would just break out crying. It even happened at work a couple of times. We had come to the conclusion that if after 6 months on the drugs, we weren't PG, we would take a break. No one can tell you how far you should take doing fertility meds/treatment. You just need to find whats best for you and your family.

To give you some hope, I took Femara for 3 cycles and finally got pregnant on the 3rd cycle :) We're now 20 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy. Best of luck and I'm sending lots of baby vibes your way :)

I have taken so many different fertility drugs (Clomid, Femara, Repronex, Follistim, HCG) that I cannot remember which ones made me more depressed than the others. I know I experienced terrible hoe flashes with Clomid, which I still have to this day even though it has been almost a year since I took any medication. The whole process of infertility is emotional and can cause you to cry and be depressed. I have been suffering swings of depression for three years now (that's how long we have been trying to conceive!) I can be watching TV and just start crying my eyes out. Hubby asks me what is wrong, but there is nothing wrong...technically. I just try to keep busy doing other things so I don't think about it (I think I have done more shopping in the past year than in my entire lifetime!) What my doctor told me is that if you don't try, you will spend the rest of your life wondering "What if I had...would I have gotten pregnant?" That is why we finally decided to try IVF, because we don't want to wonder if we would have gotten pregnant if we had tried. But only you and your hubby can decide what is best for you!
