I am soooooo sorry you were so far along. That is so devastating. I had my first IFV cycle in February and got my first BFP. It's been looking a little behind today (too small & low heartbeat) and they told my that I will miscarry. I will be 8wks on Tuesday. I am feeling similar emotions however you were much further and so I understand you are on a whole 'nother level so for that I can not relate. Again I am sorry for your loss and we will get through this. Doesn't feel like it right now that's for sure. I've been numb and a total zombie all day.

Thanks for your reply. I'm home recovering from miscarriage with nothing to do because I have to take it easy... so I'm alone with my thoughts. It's hard because after so many years of treatments, I finally got a BFP and now this happens.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my son at 25 weeks back in dec 2011. He was not growing correctly and was born stillborn. I waited 3 cycles and did a frozen round in April and turned out to be blighted ovum and had a D&c in may. At this point I didn't have enough frozen so I knew I needed to do a fresh cycle. My husband and I went away on a vaca bc now I knew what ivf fresh cycle was like. In September I did another fresh. I am now almost 27 weeks pregnant with 2 healthy girls. I was just hoping by telling you my story, I could give you some hope. Take your time recovering. Do not rush it.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. I do know somebody on here who has went through a similar situation, but I will let her share her own story. I can't even begin to understand what you're feeling, finally getting your dream, just to have it taken away. It makes matters so much worse when you're not really allowed to do anything. I know it's so much easier said than done, but allow yourself to go through the whole grieving process before you do your FET. Looking forward to trying right away can be a great way to stay positive, but I worry that if you ended up with a BFN, that all your emotions would rush at you tenfold. Good luck with everything, and hoping your heart heals :-)

Thank you for your replies, Nellysgirl and BabyboyEthan. Yes, planning FET does give me hope, but it's true that if I get a BFN it will hurt. Been down this road so many times before...so many BFNs. I'm trying to be hopeful, yet realistic.

BabyboyEthan, i'm so sorry for your loss a few years ago. I'm so happy that you are pregnant again! Gives me hope.

I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our son at 22 weeks last January. We attended group therapy for loss and greivance and then went on to private therapy session, and I really think that helped me get through it. The first few weeks were numbing but slowly and surely I began letting in family and freinds support and comfort. The number one thing I can tell you is to greive. When I began therapy I wasnt even over the initial shock of what happened and then months later is when I actually began to greive. I am not super religious or anything, but I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason and this will only make you stronger.
We are going Wednesday to get all of our infertility testing results to see why we cannot conceive, so no success yet.

I'm so sorry for all the loss that has been lived through on this post. You are all so strong for even being able to talk about it! I can't imagine what that must be like, and hopefully I'll never have to. I have to ask, though, do any of you know why you miscarried so late? Was there a specific problem, or was it unexplained? The only reason I ask is that I have several issues that are keeping me from conceiving on my own, and I've often wondered if those same issues could also cause me to miscarry. If my Sjogren's or endo could put me at a greater risk for losing a pregnancy, I almost don't even want to try. I honestly don't know if I could handle it.

We lost our baby after doing IVF in 09. We got pregnant 3 months later and had a beautiful baby boy. I'm so sorry for your loss. Take your time to heal and get some rest. *hugs*

@kevsgirl, I have my follow up appointment in a couple of weeks, so maybe I'll have more info about the cause. I actually went through regular labor & delivery because I was 19 wks. Even though it was very sad and bitter feeling knowing that my Little One didn't survive, the labor process was amazing. I felt like a mother. After all the ivf failures, this was our first BFP & pregnancy. So I wouldn't trade my five months of pregnancy for anything.

For me, this experience re-affirmed how badly I want a child, so I'm willing to go through the risk of loss again, if it means that next time perhaps I'll have a positive outcome.
