With my pcos I have as most of y'all know also Long periods . It's not uncommon to go weeks or months with out a period then aunt flow shows up for two months! Well this period is different! I started oct 21st and it was extra extra heavy I mean two tampons every hour. Well thank goodness it let up first week of nov and every since then I have had a basic period! It's now jan 8th and iam still on my period! My doctor said there is nothing he can do but let it run its course! Any ideas of what do?

Wow that's an insanely long AF. I don't have PCOS, so i'm sorry I don't know anything about the condition. As far as I know there isn't anything you can do to stop a period. Plus, while TTC, i'm under the impression that your cycle needs to run it's full course in order to build back up properly, but I could be wrong. Boy, I can't imagine how frustrated you must feel when all you want to do is get started on trying again and AF won't stop! Hugs and hope it gets done with ASAP!

I've had long AF problems in the past. I haven't been diagnosed with pcos, but I have a lot of the symptoms. I'm sorry you are experiencing that. I know how hard it can be emotionally and for relationships. My DH wants to be with me, but the last thing I want is to be "with him" when I am gushing down there. The last time I had a long one it was over two weeks long (not nearly what you are doing through). My DH acted like it was such a big deal, and was releaved when I said it was over. He smiled at me and said "that was a rough one" ha ha.... like he has any clue.
In the past when I was in college I would have month long flows, and I was put on BCP. It stopped my period and got my cycles back on track. It's only every now and again that I have issues. Is trying BCP for a cycle an option for you?

Thanks for info! I put in call to my obgyn and he has left that practice! Gggrrrr so the other dr will be over me now! She hasn't called me back but I don't want to go on birth control for obvious reasons ! I am scared iam going through menopause at 25!!! Iam waiting on call back from dr! I think I need to buy stock in Tampax!

A friend of mine had long periods and the only thing that helped was the birth control patch. Granted she was not TTC at the time, but it may be worth taking BCP for a bit just to get your cycle to calm down. I will be interested to see what your Dr says.

I have had this problem in the past as well. It helped to use BCP because that was the only way I could get the right levels of hormones to have "normal" periods.

So far the dr hasn't called back! I was on bc when I was younger and it didn't help and it is worth trying again! Guess me and the dr will talk about that!

Dr called back and has made me a appointment with a new RE at baptist! Hopefully she can give me some answers next week!
