Hello everyone, my name is Tesha and my husband and I are going through IVF but with Donor Eggs. I have Crohn's Disease and because of the severity of my illness, it caused me to have POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) I am only 29 years old and this has taken a toll on me tremendously
We have already started the process. On April 14-we had an appt with the Reproductive Endocrinologist. April 19-HSG was performed and everything looked great. April 27-We had our social work consult. April 28-I did the Mock Embryo Transfer. May 3-I started my Estradiol Injections every 3 days for 5 days. May 18th-my sonogram and bloodwork to measure the lining of my uterus. May 10th is my first High Risk OB pre-pregnancy appointment.
I know it seems like a lot but everything is going smoothly. We are seen at Shady Grove Fertility and that place is absolutely awesome. After my injections, the next step is to choose a donor and go from there. I have always wanted children with my husband and now that dream is coming into reality.
I hope you all have advice for me and I welcome all questions

I have a pretty horrible infertility problem of mosaic turner's syndrome, so I am facing premature ovarian failure in the next year or less, and so far none of my pregnancies have lasted and none of the rest of my embryos have been valid for life.
So Donor is where (since before the 1stIVF cycle) our RE is pointing my nose.
I need to complete one or two more IVF cycles before moving on and often wish like most Turner's women, I just didnt have eggs or ovaries.
I kick myself for not doing donor already, but it's emotionally too hard having been pregnant a few times already, and I need a little more time before taking the donor plunge into the pool of blissful parenthood.
Even if my own eggs work, we'll be doing donor in the future...
...my life plan was for 3-7 kids!

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Have you looked in to immunological work up before proceeding to donor eggs? There are lots of ladies that have been told they have POF and gone on to have genetic babies. If you decision is based on not wanted to possibly pass on the Crohn's Dis then forget I said anything but if you are possibly interested in not giving up on your own eggs, I would suggest you consult with an RI (reproductive immunologist) and get an evaluation. I have come across a women who is a consultant and has personally dealt with being told she has POF also when she was about your age and needed to move to DE- and she went on to have 2 healthy babies with immunology treatment. I hope I'm not offending you but just want to make sure you have all the information before proceeding. I have had 4 m/c's myself and only recently got some immunology work up to find I have some issues which I didnt' know about that may be contributing to all my m/c's.

I have had an immunology work-up due to my Crohn's disease. I am on Humira. They also discovered that I have ovaries but no eggs and that my ovaries has started to shrink due to the fact that there are no eggs inside of them so my only option is DE. I prayed for a better solution and I am content with using a DE as long as we have a child. Also my husband has Crohn's as well and the percentage is 35% if I had eggs to use which I don't so now the percentage rate of our child having Crohn's is 7-10% so we will take that. Thank you for the helpful information and I was not offended at all. I value all other aspects!
I was just told on Monday that I have POF and the IVF team is not going to move forward with my own follicles(not that I was making enough to try). I was also told that I am being worked up for Fragile X, which is what the RE thinks caused the POF. I go to the RE today to start the process of DE.
Please keep me informed on what you are going through process wise. I am almost at the same point you are. Are you going to chose a fresh or frozen donor?

I also did a Fragile X but I don't have the results back. The RE believes my POF is autoimmune related but I believe its Fragile X because every woman in my family has been diagnosed with POF!! I am rooting for you and I hope we can be IVF buddies because it always good to have someone to turn to who is experiencing the same thing you are. I will keep you updated on my status and I hope you would do the same :-)
