Hey everybody!
My husband and I have taken a @ 1 1/2 year break from our first cycle of IVF. I didn't have a viable egg to transfer at the time and I am 43 and definitely running out of time - trying to still stay positive and have faith. After a chemical pregnancy in March, we were at least hopeful that the egg and sperm can meet, since I have never had that happened. But, we are considering another cycle of IVF with a different doc, but my age and the money involved still does not thrill me, of course, and I have always wanted a child more than anything!! However, I have also been thinking about some other factors like long term effects of IVF meds? Are there any that you all are aware of? I would really appreciate any information regarding meds, that you may know of? Sometime I feel that I want a baby so bad, that I may not be considering all factors - including my health long term?? I don't know, but if anyone has any information, I would really be interested!

I have to admit I've never read anything regarding long term effects of the meds. Having said that, we are pregnant with our first (I'm 40) through IVF and we are willing to go at it again to try for #2.

I haven't heard anything either about long term effects...I guess when we're all TTC, we don't think past our 30 day cycle length, lol. Its a great question but I think if there were long term issues we would have started hearing about it.

Al I have ever heard about is long term use of Clomid leading to increased risk for cervical cancer. I have not heard anything about effects of the higher stim drugs.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
