Hello Ladies,

I am just about to have my 2nd IUI on Thursday and everything looks good at the ripe old age of 45. My uterine lining is great, no other issues and my DH sperm is no problem. Just wondering if anyone 'older' has had any success with IUI? We have already paid for an IVF, but after we got pregnant on our own this summer and had a mc after 4 weeks, then our RE and I decided to try IUI. I have a whopping 4 eggs and just trying desperately to stay positive. I have been preggo twice, so I know that it can happen but it is now more of an issue of 'staying preggo':((

I wouldnt be able to answer your question, but I wanted to wish you all the very best for your IUI.. The situation looks very promising and hope it works out and that you get a BFP and a healthy 9 months.

I am not in the same age range, but I am currently 6 weeks 5 days pregnant after IUI. Best of luck to you!

I'll be sending good wishes your way! We have done 4 iui's. (I'm 37, ttc 2 years, no kids, and I have low ovarian reserve.) We got pregnant with iui #3 but miscarried at 6 weeks. We are currently awaiting the results of iui #4. I think the fact that you did conceive on your own is a good sign. I've also heard that the 2nd & 3rd iui's are most likely to "work."

Im 37 and Im waiting for the results of my 3rd IUI, Im starting to cramp so I dont think this one is gonna take either, I have never been pregant but Im keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck with ur IUI I hope it all works out for you.

My first IUI failed. I was so optomistic and then crushed when I got my period after the procedure. I am 37 and so is my husband. We have no medical issues whatsoever.

It's funny, my Dr. told us to go straight for IVF as the chances are so much higher. But we didn't listen and wanted to try IUI.

I have never heard of anyone having success with an IUI. But I have heard about very many IVF successes.

I had success with my first IUI. Im 34 with poor ovarian reserve. It can happen. Best wishes to you.

Thank you so much ladies for sharing your experiences! I can't wait until this Tuesday morning - of course, I will test on my own before I go to my RE. It is good that I am busy because it is enough to make you go crazy!! I will keep praying and hoping for the best for me and all of you!

Good luck to you!! We did 7 IUI's, got pregnant on #3 but it was a blighted ovum. Your past pregnancies definitely increase the odds of it working for you. Wishing you the best. Good luck finishing out the dreaded 2ww.

Forgot that I also have a friend who is currently 6 months pregnant with a child she conceived with IUI #8. I guess most people won't try that many, but she and her partner decided to try up to 9 iui's, because they bought sperm in batches of 3.
