I actually have a strange cervix to. No trouble this IUI but with my first one, they could not find the openings of it. I cramped for about 1 day. Wierdly enough with this second one, they had no problem and I cramped worse for longer, like 2 days. Hang in there and try to rest!

Whether or not they can "find" the opening is all about how truly ready your body is. The higher all those "feel good" ovulation hormones are, the more relaxed, lowered, and open your cervis is (hence...easy to find). If you are coming down from that peak of hormones, you may still be fertile and ovulation, but your cervix may be gettign ready to 'close up shop til next time around' and hence it will be less relaxed, higher up, and more closed off (or...harder to find the opening of in general). all of this, assuming, you have a normal-functioning cervix.

Since you had two IUI's back to back, and the first one was fine, it's likely that your cervix was just trying to close up shop for winter (as they say) and it made it more difficult for the Doc to do their job. They likely had to use that special "pincher shaped tool" to help hold the cervix which can cause more discomfort. Try putting your feet up and laying down a bit (this helped me).

luckily they didn't have to use the pincher tool....with me scooting as far to the edge of the table as possible and them putting a little extra pressure they were able to make it "pop out" so it was easier to see. according to them less painful than them having to use the pinchy thing, but still uncomfortable all the same. unfortunately laying back with my feet up is not an option until later on this evening.....i am at work for about 2 more hours.
