Your insurance should cover it. I think most do. Mine did. I'm not sure how much they cost. I only had to pay my copay. Sorry I can't be more help.

My insurance did not cover anything but my medications. Luckily that only cost me around $100 per iui. At my dr. office if u have one insemination it is $1100. Sometimes they will do two inseminations back to back and then it is $1500. Hope this helps!

Yes it does help. I dont think my insurance will cover it. I feel stupid asking so is the insemination part of the IUI? That is probably a STUPID question, but I want to make sure I understand all that this entails.

Our insurance did not cover it. We paid $175.00 per IUI.

That includes u/s, bloodwork, IUI and meds.

You can call your RE's billing deparment too - and they can help give you a range :)

Hmmmm...I am kinda confused as to why there is such a price range difference. I guess I will need to talk to the Fertility Specialist office.

The cost of an IUI usually depends on what medications you are on. Some drs charge you for the procedure, each u/s, and whatnot. My clinic it is all inclusive (ultrasounds, bloodwork, semen analysis, and IUI).

Straight clomid or femara is $550 total (includes all u/s, which for me could be up to 10)
Oral meds with injectibles is $800
Full injectible cycle is $1,700

Mine was just under 1600 for the first one. (Letrozole, follistim, 2 u/s, Lh bloodwork, HCG trigger, prometrium) The second one was 1350 because i had a ton of follistim left over. My third one will be even cheaper, since I have follistim and prometrium left over to use. My insurance covers nothing. It is really annoying the prices vary so much. This is the only place within reasonable travel to me. (40 minutes) They do have very good success rates. My place does not do 2 iui's in one cycle. They used too, and for the price, all their statistics showed that it did not increase the preganancy rates, so it is not worth it. Everyplace seems to be different though.

SO, for me the IUI itself is $350
The rest depends if you are using clomid, injectibles, or both.
You will need at least one u/s that month, usually more though and each u/s costs me $140.
Clomid is cheap, I pay $18/month.
Gonal-F and Ovidrel injections are a little over $400.
Progesterone suppositories run around $280.

A few years ago my insurance paid for everything but the actual procedure. The IUI cost $200. I did have to pay some for meds - like $10 for the clomid and I think like $150 for follostim/gonal-F.

My insurance covers only meds. My office charges everything separately. Each ultrasound is $192. At least two or three per cycle. The sperm washing and insemination is $400. Bloodwork is another $100 or so. My last iui was about $1200.

My insurance company is billed $3700, which they cover 50% of. This includes: u/s, bloodwork, Gonal F pens, and two back-to-back IUI's.
