Ok, this is kind of an embarassing question but has anyone ever used the special collection condoms to get the swimmers for an IUI? We've had 3 IUIs so far collected the "other" way and our 4th one is scheduled for Saturday. Today I asked about these condoms and my RE's office gave me one for $10 I was so annoyed they charged for it but anyway...I've been overthinking all of this stuff and I'm wondering if collecting via intercourse produces more sperm than collecting the other way? Does anyone know?
Also, I'm getting stressed out about the trasport of it. They said it needs to be to the office within 45 minutes and we live about a half hour away. It might sound weird but I like the idea of collecting via intercourse but I'm starting to think the stress of getting it there might not be worth it. Has anyone else dealt with this?

I haven't tried that but I think the best way to collect it is straight into the cup? I doubt you would get more with sex than the other way. As for the length of time you have, my doctor told me an hour and I think that is pretty typical. A good friend of mine got stuck behind a parade on her way to her RE's (can you imagine?) with her husband's sample so it ended up taking over an hour for her to get there, but she still got pregnant!

I live about a half hour away and i was able to transport for the first IUI. My husband definatly thinks that there is a difference when through intercourse. although we have never collected through intercouse he says there would probably be a difference. We are on our second IUI and this time he collected at the office, but the weird thing was that the count was a little lower, but still good. good luck with your decision.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
