I\'m pretty sure my most recent IUI did not work and I\'m trying to figure out what went wrong. Everything looked so perfect this time but I started spotting today and I\'m convinced it\'s AF. After a good long cry I\'m now searching for reasons. I know there\'s not always an answer, especially with IF but I can\'t help but think that maybe this didn\'t work because I didn\'t rest enough. My RE always tells me to lay on the table for 5-10 minutes and then I can resume normal activity. I always lay there for 15-20 minutes. My IUI was in the morning and I rested the whole day just laying around. But, the next day I did a lot of walking and now I\'m wondering if maybe that has caused this BFN. Any thoughts?

I had three IUIs the first two I took it easy all day. This last one I was on my feet for an hour and af still came. She just came today so I feel your pain. Sorry it came to you too:( hugs....

So has AF come or just the spotting? If just still spotting there is still hope. I had the same thing happen to me and I thought for sure AF was coming and it stopped and I got a BFP. As far as resting I just took it easy that day and that weekend. Mine was on a Friday.

My thoughts on that are it\'s the same as regular insemination. Almost. Some women get up and walk around and even take showers right afterwards. I would think it has nothing to do with not enough rest. If it\'s gonna take it will take. The sperm are there and are gonna do their job kinda thing. I don\'t know JMO.

Right now it\'s just spotting but this is how AF always starts for me. I always hope it\'s implantation bleeding but it never is.

my doctor asks that i rest on the table for 20 minutes. And on what ever side i ovulated on. I then try yoga deep breathing excercies because i\'m always anxious. my doctor then tell me to rest the remainder of the day.

My doctor told me that sperm don\'t \'feel\' gravity and they can swim up as easily as down. Especially with an IUI--they\'re up there in the right place, so half the work is done. I think reducing stress and making sure you\'re eating properly, drinking enough etc is probably more important than whether or not you lay around or not. I could be wrong of course--but that\'s my gut feeling. Obviously strenuous exercise is likely not a good idea, but normal walking around is probably OK
