I have tried everything from special teas, to special prayers, all sorts of herbal rememdies, but after a while i have just given up and its not so bad, im just sick of trying everything and having no results, Im being retested at the end of this month and that will let me know my next step, But i have decided that if i am going to have a baby i will need assistance from a fertility Clinic or i will do it the good old fashioned romantic way, hey you never know it could work, Look after you,
My husband and I have decided (at least up to this point) to stick with the old fashioned method and if it's meant to be, it will be. I haven't had my AMH tested for that reason--we both feel fertility drugs aren't right for us and DE doesn't feel right to us either. After working in orphanages in China and Russia we have had such first-hand experience with all the babies out there who need to be loved that adoption is likely our next step.
Acupuncture and herbs have also really helped me up to this point, however I guess the bottom line is that nothing can change the underlying condition. Acceptance seems to be the pathway to some peace. And one never knows what will happen when we just keep at that romantic way of baby making :-)
Have you considered any HRT? I've read that women with POF before the age of 40 have increased risk of osteoporosis and heart disease and that many doctors recommend HRT, specifically estrogen (I've also read that some women get pregnant after using an estrogen patch). I am however scared of the side effects after many recent studies pointing to links between HRT and breast cancer.
Whew, hot flash number something or other. Time to fan myself and try to find the humor in wanting to strip off all my clothes in the middle of the office!
Thanks for helping me step back and take a breath.
And thank you sabby09 for your thoughts on HRT. That is actually the way I was leaning. Taking any type of hormone, or really medication for that point, makes me very nervous. I have had a lot of success with eastern medicine, until this cycle, so that's likely the route I will stay on.
As a side note, I went to my acupuncturist yesterday who put me back on raw herbs (that I make tea out of) and literally within 24 hours my hot flashes have cut in half. Thank goodness!
Thanks for your support!
Not sure if you ladies saw the article I posted on HRT, however just in case not, link below. I am very glad I have not gone the route of HRT, scary stuff.
All the best and fingers crossed for the disappearance of hot flashes and night sweats!
