I haven't taken menopur but when I started follistim I was extremely tired for the first few days. Also had headaches. The fatigue went away after 1-2 days but the headaches stuck around a bit longer.

I've used Menopur for 2 different IVF cycles and it always seems to sting/burn. I found by icing the injection site for 10 minutes before hand it helps a little but doesn't take away all of the sting. Good luck!!!!

I am not sure what the difference is but sometimes mine does not sting at all and others it stings like fire. Even the needle going in stings on this one. I tried mixing it and letting it sit for about 5 minutes but that did not seem to help either. Good luck!

I have had cycles where it was extremely difficult to administer the meds and others where it was a breeze! No rhyme or reason to it. Do you let your Follistim sit out for about 10 minutes before injecting? This should take away a little bit of the sting. I am using Delestrogen right now and it makes me extremely depressed. Goo dluck with your cycle!

Are you sure you are letting the alcohol dry on your skin before you are injecting? The only time I felt any burning with Menopur was when the alcohol hadn't dried. That was painful! Good luck!

I think sometimes my needles aren't as sharp as others. Sometimes the needles go in so easily and other times I really have to push hard to get them to go in. Very weird.
Agree with the alcohol comment ! Swab your proposed injection spot and then prepare your shots to give it time to dry. :)

Tip ~ if you use ice, you should always use heat after the injection. If you don't then the med will not disperse as well & will cause more lumps & sensitivity.

Tip ~ I agree with the others about the alcohol. Always let it dry completely or the med & injection will sting more.

Tip ~ Try to turn your toes in toward each other to relax the muscle...be it in the thigh or the butt. The more tense you are the more it is going to hurt.

With the menopur, I found that injecting it slowely stung less. I was extremely tired on the Lupron with headaches and no appetite and tongue hurt bad for some reason. Follistim didn't effect me and I felt normal.

I agree with the other women. I've had cycles when I was completely wiped out. Also, there are times my meds sting or hurt and other times they don't. My best suggestion to reduce the sting is to draw the meds into the syringe and let it sit for 10-20 minutes before injecting it. Good luck!
