I did injectables last cycle and will start them again next month. My last cycle was a combo - clomid and follistim. I did go to the get b/w and u/s more often...I think every 3rd day and they adjust meds as needed. You could wait for the summer but you'll be fine going to work after...can you go in the am before work? If I am the first one to the office I can get my u/s and b/w done and make it to my classroom on time (although I have someone ready to cover...just in case). I did not have any side effects other than bruising at the injection site. I injected in my thigh (actually DH did the injections). You have to do them at the same time each night...so we picked 8. We knew we'd be awake and (most likely) home. It isn't that bad...I think you could do it and work. Good luck!

I recently finished my injectibles. I used gonal-f & ovidrel. I have been working and going to school fulltime. I found that I was a little more tired than usual and A LOT moodier. I was able (for the most part) to contain my mood swings at work :). I had a cycle buddy that's a music teacher in public school and she was all right, too. I had to do the shots in my tummy. My dh did them for me, I iced, then shot, only towards the end did it start to sting a little on my left side (have no clue as to why that happened). I didn't feel the trigger shot at all. I have had issues with nagging nausea and tender bbs. Other than that, just waiting for those feelings to go away (hopefully they wont) because that would be a GOOD sign :) 5dpiui... My bw/us schedule varied. It took a while to get my follies stimulated so initially is was 3 days, 4 days, then 2 days, 2 days and trigger (something like that...) The only bummer was bw/us so much...

I understand you completely. I am a teacher too, and it's kind of complicated with the schedule, luckly, my RE is a few blocks from my work. I am on repronex. What I had to do was had blood work done on the 3rd day of my cycle to check on FSH, which they wanted to be less than 10 on day 3. Also Estradiol, which they wanted to be less than 50. This are my numbers, I think it varies, so just ask your doctor. Also on the 3rd day they do an ultrasound to see if there are any cysts left from previous cycle. If everything comes back ok you will strat injectables that night. You will do it yourself, I have to do it in my stomach. I had to come back 5 days later to check on estradiol, they wanted to go up, at least double day 3 number, and they do an ultrasound. They will tell you then if the dosis of the injectables is working for you, to keep on doing what you are doing on increase the dosis. I came back two days later to do estradiol and ultrasound. That was monday for me. I increase the dosis of injectables and do it for three more days. Las night I gave myslef the trigger shot and was ask to have intercourse, and my IUI is going to be on Saturday. They want your follicles to be at least 18 (I'm not sure if inches or cm.) in size and your stradiol to be 200. That is all I can tell you now. As far as schedules, for me it works since my work and RE are so close, I go really early in the morning, or after work. I hope it works out for you. Good luck

I did think it was stressful trying to schedule appointments around work. I always tried to get earlier appointments, but it was not always possible. I was late a lot. I injected myself in the tummy. At first, my DH injected me, but I was able to do it myself after a while. Doctor's appointments were usually every other day or every three days. They were even more frequent around ovulation. I did injectibles for 4 IUIs and my schedule varied each cycle. Typically I would go in for b/w and u/s on cd3. The injections woudl start that night and I would go back to RE after 3 nights of injection for b/w and u/s. Based on the results i would either be ready to trigger that night for IUI next 2 days or would need a few more days of injections and would then return to RE for b/w and u/s. My RE has morning hours so I was always out and at work by normal time. The injections were not bad at all. DH did them in my stomach and I barely felt them. I had no side effects. Good luck!
