My husband and I have been unable to have another baby since we started trying in March 2004. We have had several pregnancies, all ending in miscarriage in the first trimester.
I have PCOS and have finally got my periods into a normal cycle (27-29 days).
Yesterday I saw a neurologist because I have MS. I haven't been in treatment for MS because it hasn't effected me much at all. The neurologist says I've been having seizures (I got confused and forget where I am, have had temporary loss of vision for 20-30 minutes). He put me on a medication that he says will help, but there's a HUGE warning on it that it causes miscarriage.
Since we've been trying for so long, do I just give up and take the meds? Or do I not take the meds and continue on like this? We want another baby so bad, and it tore my heart to pieces when I saw the information on the medication.
What would any of you do? Any advice? My doctor says they all are bad for pregnancy, and since I'm not pregnant, he sees no issues with it.

I see a neuro for horrible migraines and the medicine I take to keep them in check is actually an anti-seizure medication. I don't have seizures but something in the meds helps to combat migraines. He told me well over a year ago if we started trying to have children that I would need to stop taking it. Well I haven't because honestly it dosen't make sense to me to be in pain and not functional every month for a crap shoot. Next month will be 22 months of trying and I'm glad I've stayed on it. The worry with these meds are birth defects to the baby, but I figure as much as I'm monitored I'm gonna know right away when I do finally get pregnant so I will be able to stop taking it very early. Hope this kinda helps and good luck to you.

Sounds like you are having serious issues. You should take the medication.
