My OBGYN tells me the exact same thing about weight, she makes it seem like I'm obese, and that weight loss is the magic cure. Lol!
I'm overweight and in the same situation though. I have no motivation to do anything extreme about it because I just feel like the medical issues are stopping me from ever losing anything except a couple of pounds.
Don't feel like you're the only one :)
I have ALWAYS struggled with my weight and have NEVER been thin. I am 'overweight' but I am healthy. My in laws are OBSESSED with their weight and are thinner than me but guess what, I could out run them in a 5K race. The important thing is to be healthy and I believe losing weight can be good. Since I have struggled like you to lose weight here are some things that have helped me to lose weight and be healthier. Exercise and eating more protein. Rotate exercise between cardio and weight lifting every other day, cardio, upper body, cardio, lower body, cardio etc. this routine helps build muscle which burns fat and helps metabolism. I have found just 30 to 35 minutes a day does wonders. You don't need an entire hour, like most exercise programs tell you. Choose your calories with more protein. Protein stays with you sooooo much longer than carbs and helps build muscle. Have protein at EVERY meal, especially breakfast. If I eat eggs and toast for breakfast I don't snack and am not hungry. It helps!
Anyway, sorry for the rant. Also realize that hormones play a huge role in appetite. Birth control always made me gain weight and increased my appetite. Even with hormone changes eating more protein helped curb my appetite. Anyway, good luck friend!
I live on Prince Edward Island but I'm from New Brunswick. I'd give anything to get back to NB to be with my family. But there's no full time work for my job there :( That doesn't help with the stress either..
For what it;s worth... these are the things that have help me with my weight loss: doing the Curves work out 3x a week, drinking a ton of water, cutting out all white food (bread, rice, sugar, etc.), eating good & low carbs only with lot of lean protein. and I know some feel that juicing is extreme but it changed my life and my eating habits for the good and helped kick start my weight loss big time, check out the film "Fat, sick & nearly dead" or www.rebootwithjoe.com At the very least I hope it makes you feel better that you're not alone in this struggle!
You and I are in exactly the same boat! I could stand to lose about 20 lbs and my doc keeps saying even a little bit would make a difference and I just can't seem to do it! I keep going back to my comfort foods!
I'm stressed out too, and also have an independent 2 year old. We are so similar my husband leaves for work when I get home too. It makes for some long lonely nights. It' doesn't help to snack or cook because you're bored. I can't believe you tried doing a project that big. My daughter would NEVER let that happen! I've taken up gardening because she likes to play outside and sometimes even tries to help!
Let me know if you come up with a magic cure because you and I are two peas in a pod!

Do I stop eating dessert or snacking on chocolate? noooo. Do I not reach for the bag of chips or an extra piece of cheese? nope.
I jokingly call it my "winter weight" I'm hopeful that with the beginning of the nice weather I'll step up my game and actually lose some of it!
I started using myfitnesspal.com. It's free and the app is great!
.
I just really think that people with infertility have added stress and also struggle because of the meds. The metformin was helping me to drop a few pounds when I first started it but not any more.
BRS - I started that project because it was something I'd been asking my husband to do for a while now. And we all know how men are when asked to do something lol. So I figured if I at least got it started then he could finish it. I literally used a screw driver and a palm sander. And I did it when my daughter was in bed. There's no way she'd let me do that kind of a project.
Has anyone ever tried any weight loss "all natural" supplements? I've tried Plexus and currently I have a few bottles of Skinny Fiber but I haven't finished them. I'm too paranoid about the possibility of being pregnant and taking something that's not safe. Supposedly it is safe, but you just never know.
I know I just need to eat better and get some exercise but it's just so hard to find the motivation!
Thanks everyone!
