Hi everyone. I'm new to this group and looking support. My husband and I had been trying to conceive for a few years now with no luck. It was time to go to the doctor and get real answers. Unfortunately the answer was not what I wanted to hear. After many tests it was determined that both my tubes were blocked. When I first started the test she told me not to worry and that I would get pregnant. Once we discovered my tubes were blocked she called me to tell me she was sorry and there was nothing else she could do for me. She said my only option is IVF, She then gave me a couple of infertility clinic's numbers and hung up. So much for compassion right? I just feel like I failed as a wife. My husband always wanted children before he was thirty and because of my body I took that chance away from him.
I have been doing some research about natural remedies. Has anyone had any success with herbal remedies for unblocking fallopian tubes? I'm thinking about trying this before I try IVF. I think it's because the diagnosis was so recent, but the thought of IVF scares me. I just don't know if I am strong enough or emotionally stable enough to go through it right now.

I understand feeling like you failed your husband! I felt the same way, but it nothing you did or could have predicted. But remember he did not marry you just for your uterus. I am sure you are still am amazing wife.

My husband was tested and he was fine. I went through a Laparoscopy procedure where the doctor determined my tubes were blocked through the use of dye but he was un able to fix them. A couple weeks later I had a Hysterosalpingogram performed to further confirm that my tubes were blocked. This is when my doctor told my IVF was my only option.
Thanks again for your kind words. I'm sure as many of you understand the support from people going through the same thing is helping me deal with my own pain and anger.
I had a HSG first and they told me both tubes were blocked but in a very round about and unclear way.
The doctor told me IVF was the only way and I like you was blown away, I don't want to have IVF there must be another way. I did some research (I had hydrosalpinx) and found that hydros drain into the uterus which can prevent implantation so IVF may not work anyway so I demanded a Lap and requested they do a tubal ligation if they found hydro blocking both tubes. I was hoping for a positive finding but came out of my lap to be told that both my tubes had been clipped, effectively sterilising me!!! I was obviously devastated. We moved on to pursue IVF as this was our only option from there. Its a lot to take on but the anticipation is worse than the reality!!
I am happy to tell you I am now 9weeks pregnant, it has been a long road but like the ladies say, you are young (I am 29 too) and as long as everything else is fine you have a great chance at success!!!
