Hello everyone! Hope for your help. I’m stuck, have no idea what to do. I’m 33, married, no kids. I was diagnosed with PCOS 5 years ago. Of course it was a shocking ‘news’. We were ttc for a long time. We’ve been dreaming about having children for 8 years already. But my doctor told me about medical treatment, that medicines will help and I have all chances to get pregnant. We put all our hope in this treatment. I spent years in clinics, buying pills and other stuff. We spent so much nerves and money on this. Unfortunately no result. Only now I understand, that everything is not that easy as I thought. I really believed that I will be that lucky one, who get pregnant thanks to treatment. I can’t understand, why me? What have I done to deserve this. I’ve read so many stories about successful treatment. I’m happy for those women, but it makes me so sad nothing helped me… There are so many reports in the news about women, who throw their new born babies out. I personally know a couple of women, who made an abortion and not once. I’m not judging in any way! Different situation can happen in life. I’m just asking why God gives them unwonting children? And here I am, who wants to have kids more then anybody else, but I can’t. I don’t mean to be rude. I just have all this feelings and thoughts inside… They don’t let me live happily. I can’t accept childless life. What should I do? What options do I have?
Yet, having decided to take the donor route, I still found myself searching for connections that would link me to the egg. It was a romantic kind of obstinacy, and for a while I couldn’t shake it. On a monitor I watched a magnified embryo gently drift his way inside me. Two weeks later, dh and I rejoiced cautiously at my positive pregnancy test. Four weeks after that, I had a scan and listened to the thump-thump-thump of a heartbeat.
I couldn’t help remembering the countless times I had sized up an infant and said, “He’s got your eyes!” or, “Doesn’t she look like her dad?” Of course, they would always be able to trace their forebears on dh's side, but that wouldn’t involve me...

I'm so sorry if my news made you sad! I know how hard it is to find out someone's pregnant or having kids when you're struggling with infertility, especially during holidays. I wish every one of you, who are trying to conceive, all the best! I wish all of your dreams will come true!
@giftformeriel my congratulations! We've also decided to go abroad mostly because of the costs. The procedure was anonymous. Our doctor chose 3 donors for us and we had an opportunity to pick the one we liked the most(we saw her childhood photos). In most countries the selection of egg donors is based on a phenotype matching with the recipient. This means a donor needs to have an eye, hair and skin color that matches yours. These rules stem from legal requirements.
We paid approx $8000 for 2 ivf attempts. The clinic uses fresh eggs. We've been choosing between the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Latvia. Eventually, we went to a Ukrainian clinic. Pay attention to success rates, costs and of course reviews. Don't be afraid to contact clinics via email or skype. Ask them questions, make some lists of pros and cons. Good luck!
