I've been dealing okay with my infertility lately, but today I started spotting. I know for most people that's really exciting because it means possible implantation, but this happens to me all the time. I'm one of those crazy women who gets phantom pregnancy symptoms every time I think about having kids too much. Spotting, morning sickness, late periods... my body thinks it's funny to play with my mind. So here I am again telling myself that I'm crazy... telling myself I'm not pregnant. But I know myself too well. By the end of the month I'll have built a castle out of this and when it's not true I'll crash. I can't crash again. I work with kids. I don't have the luxury of falling apart in a corner at work like I used to. I'll scare them. I need to deal with this right now. I need to stop all my hopes right now... but I'm afraid I won't be able too. I should be more in control of myself by now, but I'm not and I don't know what to do...

I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles. Phantom symptoms really suck! I would test on cycles that I expected my period on "bad days" (baby showers, busy work...) So I could be sad at home and feel a bit better when I had to be "on". It helped a lot! Thinking of you!

We all let your minds get carried away sometime. I think it is super normal for those of us with IF. Don't be to hard on yourself, I am sure you are stronger then you realize and you will be able to hold it together at work. Then you can let yourself melt down at home. You need to let yourself feel your emotions, it just needs to be at the right time and at home is a great place.

Thank you guys. I don't mean to complain. It's just been a while since this happened last, and I kind of thought I was over the stupid phantom symptoms. It just took me by surprise. Thanks for being supportive even when I'm overreacting.

It's tough at work. I had to leave work at lunch today after nearly having a panic attack during a school assembly and then crying in my vice principals office. I can't just skip out easily.. I have a responsibility I teach my classes and today I just couldn't function. Tosay my vice principal covered for me but it can't be a regular thing. I feel better now. I think taking time and allowing myself to melt down at home might help. Am worried about Monday. I hope you are feeling better now too.

@Likewater I know what you mean. It's tough to keep yourself together, especially when you have to think about the kids. I'm only a nanny so there's only 2 kids for me to think about. I would imagine it's much harder for a teacher with a full classroom. But we can do this. Monday will come and go and we will make it because we are strong. I am thinking of you... Hugs!
