Sometimes short periods can mean you're not ovulating. But not necessarily. If you have positive ovulation predictor kits, that's a good sign. Also, doctors can do a cycle day 25 progesterone test to see if you are ovulating and making enough progesterone to support a healthy lining. If the test is fine, then 3 day periods are just normal for you.

Thanks for your reply. I've used a fertility monitor and it always shows that I ovulate although not always exactly right in the middle of my cycle.

So if you're concerned and naturally trying to conceive, I'd ask your doctor to do a day 25 progesterone test. Should help!

Mine is totally gone my day 3. I sometimes have minor brown spotting. I have a light flow day 1 and then a heavier (I can still use light tampons for the most part) on day 2. Sometimes it starts heavier then gets lighter on day 2. My doctor hasn't said anything about it but I have read that a light period can indicate a thin uterine lining.

I don't know anything about it. Just read an article a while back and that would make sense. So it might be worth asking your doctor.

I plan on asking when I get to an RE. My OB/GYN doesn't do anything but an HSG and 3 rounds of clomid then refers you on so I didn't think it was really worth talking to her about if she wasn't going to test for it or do anything about it.

Mine is only about 24 hours and they keep telling me it's ok as long as it comes on a regular basis
