Hi! Just out of curiosity: To those of you TTC using IUI or IVF. How long did you TTC before you decided to do IUI or IVF?

And I meant to say How ling did you TTC Naturally before TTC with IUI or IVF?

we did for about 3 years; we had a feeling something was wrong

We tried three years naturally before our first IUI. In that time, I did get pregnant twice but miscarried both times just past ten weeks. We also conceived on one of our IUIs but I miscarried a third time just past six weeks. We are starting IVF in August.

3 years.

We did our first IUI 3 years after we started trying. However, we started seeing an RE about 6 months before for all of the diag nostic testing.

I am 32, TTC 1 year and then I went to IUI. I was charting and using OPK though... so I knew there was a problem. I would suggest starting with a semen analysis. It is non-invasive and less than $150. You can quickly rule out male factor.

Thank You everyone! It seems like 3 years is the average amount of time. I am going to the Drs at the end of this month. I think I will see what happens from now till October, if I am not pregnant by October, then I plan on trying acupuncture. If that doesn't work, I will have Hubby tested and take it from there:) I just have a feeling it's me not him. But who knows!!!

We tried for about 3 years also. We got pregnant on our own but miscarried at 8 weeks, and that got me motivated to move to an RE. We are doing IVF this month. If I were you, I'd get the initial testing done (blood work on specific days of your cycle, semen analysis for him), just to ease your mind. Best of luck!

We tried for about a year. Being 33, decided to be aggressive and go to RE. Glad we did- found out DH has low morphology and that IVF with ICSI is really our only option.

Got PG after 4 months of TTC when I turned 35 and miscarried at ~7 weeks (only knew I was PG for about 2 days). Almost 2 full years of natural TTC before seeing our RE in January, 2011. AMH was low at .7 so straight to IUI because we could get a SA count at the same time. #1 and #2 BFN's and awaiting #3. Going to try all we can before thinking of IVF because of no insurance coverage for IF

I've been trying about 3 years as well... going to see the IF specialist for the first time on Monday! ;)

We tried naturally for about 10 years before looking into our issue. Most of you will think I'm crazy, but my husband and I have some very conservative religious beliefs and had to work those out before moving on. I'm hoping to start our 1st IVF cycle in Aug.

Hubby and I tried 15 months naturally before our first IUI. I'm 29 and he is 31 and I'm just really anxious to have a baby! We took 6 months off from seeing an RE since the IUI failed and we are finally ready to go back and get into the medicated cycles again. Baby dust to all!!!

Thank You al SO MUCH for your replys! I know that you all have your struggles with TTC and I am sure it has not been easy for most of you:( I really hope that you all get what you dream of!!! Since I am 33 going on 34(and was hoping to have more than one child) before 40, I will probably pretty aggressive with TTC, I will see what Dr has to say this month, and if she suggests hubby getting tested, I am sure he will, then give it a few more months and will probably look into IUI. Good Luck to you all!!!
