We got a credit card offer for a 3.99% balance transfer for life. So we put it on a different credit card then balance transferred it so it was like getting a 14000 dollar loan with a 3.99 % interest rate. Payments are VERY affordable. But only a credit line big enough for one try luckily we had frozen one left and a FET is only 1800 dollars. So it is a tad more affordable. Hope this helps.

Both my husband and I have health flexible spending accounts through our employee benefits. My company caps it at $5k and his is $2,500. It does not cover everything, but it's a good starting point.

The money is taken our of our payroll pre-tax, it is a big chunk out of each paycheck, but we save a lot of taxes too.

In my opinion, it's much better than paying taxes on the money, then putting it in a savings account. Besides, the money is available to us up front, so we actually get to use it before we pay into it.

We borrowed the money from family and we got the meds. donated to us from are doctor. I have talked to some of the other woman on here and they have told me that you can do a "mini" IVF cycle. It's about half the cost. I don't know much about mini IVF, but it is something you could look into. Hope that helps. Good luck!

I am fortunate to have some ins coverage, 15,000 for life but 5 IUI'S and 2 fresh DE IVF and 3 frozen IVF I have just about maxed it out.Alot of the DE cycles were not covered so I was 15,000 out of pocket for last year. I borrowed some from my 401K, 0% credit card balance transer for some and paid as much out of pocket as possible.My DH and I also did some part time jobs for some extra cash to cover the payments.I am blessed to have excellent prescription coverage with a full IVF cycle costing me under $200 for everything but I have crappy eggs so it doesn't help much except for the FET cycles.

WOw, sounds so promising and oh so helpful ladies, I have been looking into this mini-ivf cycle as it's less money and I can save for that. i also have been working a second job as well. If anyone has any additional ideas do message me,

We took out an infertility loan through Capital One. We pay monthly payments on the loan that are affordable.

Try to see if a share risk program is an option for you that will help you in case you need of more than one treatment. Also find out about a personal loan if you get a good interest rate the monthy payment won't be too bad.

We got a line of credit based on our home equity. It required a lot of shopping around.
and like marcesqo30 said, if you qualify for a Shared risk program that is really a good way to go.

i dont know where you are ,but here in massachusettes health insurance cover the treatment.

In the UK there is strict criteria that you have to meet so that you can have IVF on the NHS, unfortunately I didnt meet any of that criteria so we went private, thankfully we have managed to finance the first and second go ourselves did a lot of saving.

I'd get a free go in the UK, but no where exclusive to stay makes it a no go.

Make sure you check with your RE about any studies you might be able to participate in. I was in one that cut the cost of my IVF in half and provided part of the meds for free.

I financed a healthcare loan through capital one. No fertility insurance coverage. I had to pay for meds out of pocket. My husband and I raised money by doing fundraisers to cover the cost of travel (my IVF doc is 5.5 hours away from where I live) and to cover med costs. We have had to make a lot of sacrafices like no entertainment, clothes, etc...
