I'm in the same boat... I've done 2 fresh cycles and one frozen, had one BFN and two chemical pregnancies. I just had bloodwork done to rule out a blood clotting problem, coagulation issues apparently make it hard for an embryo to attach correctly. Also, I was tested for anitbodies, making sure that nothing is attacking the embryo. I've had wonderful embryo quality, too. Also, make sure they check your lining again. Next time around for me, I'm thinking about doing a natural transfer, one without lupron and estrace. I checked my lining last week just to see what I was around ovulation, and I was 11. With all of my medicated transfers I was 6,8, and 8 (which they say is OK, but more might be better). I'll also be taking heparin and baby aspirin, even though the tests didn't say I was having issues with my blood. My RE thinks that more people could benefit from using heparin/baby aspirin, some info on the internet also thinks it may help. I'm scared... I don't want to get a surrogate either... It just sounds so complicated and I'm actually quite tired of complicated... Let me know what your RE says, maybe they will give you info that could help me too... I need all the help I can get :) I'll be talking to my RE again, too... I'll pass on any info that is new. Best of luck to you! I'm having a hard time keeping my hopes up, I'm hoping I'll be more excited and optimistic when my transfer comes closer.

I had a good friend go through 4 rounds of IVF. She put one egg in on the 4th time and it took. Her baby was just born in July. I am in the same boat...we just had our 2nd failed IVF. We are waiting to hear back to see what the next steps are.

After my first IVF failed, the doctor helped me understand why it didn't work. He said that some embryo's just don't have the nutrients to develop into a prenancy. He said it's like this with EVERYONE, otherwise, women would get pregnant every month. Well, those who ARE able to get pregnant. He said it has nothing to do with my body or my DH's body. We really worried about it because my DH has antibodies that attack his sperm. I know this probably isn't a big reassurance since you have done this more than I have, but it really helped me understand why it didn't work.

It's good, though, that you're not giving up and that you are willing to try whatever it takes to have a family. With that, you should still have hope that things will work out for you and your DH. As long as your still willing to try you should still have hope.

Thanks ladies. I had extensive blood work done prior to my 2nd fresh cycle. They checked all my clotting factors, checked for antibodies, and ruled out the common autoimmune diseases. They even checked my and DH's chromosomes to make sure we are in fact XX and XY (happy to report no surprises there). My RE said all of this testing is what they normally do after 2 failed fresh cycles. However, since my insurance would cover it, we opted to do it before. My lining has always been good, and each time they had me take baby Aspirin. So I really do not know what he will say as far as where to go from here. I did read an article in The New England Journal of Medicine, that 6 rounds of IVF seems to be the magic #. 6!!!??? I cannot imagine going through this another 4 times. Although, I never thought I would be in this position so who knows what we are capable of. Let me know what your RE's tell you and we can compare notes.

A friend of a friend went through 10 IVFs. 10!!! After she did 6 they found some problem with her thyroid and removed some tumor on it. Then she did another 4. She just had twins a few months back. I know that this sounds like an awful lot of IVFs but never say never. I myself did 3. Two were canceled because we had no good embryos and the third was a success and we got a baby boy! I'm now pg naturally with our second child - worked in two tries and no problems so far (34 w). It's as if IF was just a bad dream. I hope this gives you some hope.

Don't giveup hope. It only takes one good embryo, yours its on it way i am sure of it!
