I was talking to a co- worker and the subject of IVF came up. I did IVF in May of 2007 and was blessed with a daughter who will be 11 months in a couple of day. As we talked about it I did tell her that I had this done because she stated that her daughter was having trouble get PG and was afraid she may not be able to. I told her the name of the Dr I went to and how great he is. She shocked me by saying that if it is ment for her to have a baby then she will, but if not then that is what God wants. I looked at her and said it would not hurt for her to talk with the Dr and see what options she has. She told me that It is not right for Drs to be playing God the way they are doing such as IVF. My mouth about hit the floor. I went to leave the room and she said that it is ok for some people but we believe in church and what God wants. I sat back down and very calmly said well so do I and I believe that God was there with me the whole time and felt that it was the right time for me and DH to have a baby. I then went on and said that I also believe that God gave my Dr the skills to help us have Aubrey and with out God Aubrey would not be with us today. She said you have your way of thinking and I have mine. She is the same co- worker that does not like all the Pictures I bring of my daughter to work. she complained to my manger stating that they get in the way. She also had the nerve to say that we used Goverment money to pay for Aubrey. She is sooo rude. Sorry just venting.
I also agree that God helped create these doctors to help us, just like the ones He helped create to save lives. If her daughter was in an accident and doctors performed surgery to save her life, would that be getting in the way of God's plan for her to die? She may of thought a little differently about that.
Anyways, I am sorry you had to listen to that but am proud of you for hour you responded.
Just like you go to the doctor for a heart condition or a stomach problem, fertility problems AFFECT YOUR BODY and require some help. The fact that we do or do not have to go to a doctor for help does not in any way limit God's will in our lives. In fact, God (I believe) GAVE us the doctors to help us. If he truly doesn't want us to have a child, we won't. Plain and simple. but to assume that doctor's HAVE more power than God is actually a bigger failing of faith - just my humble opinion.
