I was talking to a co- worker and the subject of IVF came up. I did IVF in May of 2007 and was blessed with a daughter who will be 11 months in a couple of day. As we talked about it I did tell her that I had this done because she stated that her daughter was having trouble get PG and was afraid she may not be able to. I told her the name of the Dr I went to and how great he is. She shocked me by saying that if it is ment for her to have a baby then she will, but if not then that is what God wants. I looked at her and said it would not hurt for her to talk with the Dr and see what options she has. She told me that It is not right for Drs to be playing God the way they are doing such as IVF. My mouth about hit the floor. I went to leave the room and she said that it is ok for some people but we believe in church and what God wants. I sat back down and very calmly said well so do I and I believe that God was there with me the whole time and felt that it was the right time for me and DH to have a baby. I then went on and said that I also believe that God gave my Dr the skills to help us have Aubrey and with out God Aubrey would not be with us today. She said you have your way of thinking and I have mine. She is the same co- worker that does not like all the Pictures I bring of my daughter to work. she complained to my manger stating that they get in the way. She also had the nerve to say that we used Goverment money to pay for Aubrey. She is sooo rude. Sorry just venting.

Oh my goodness. Yes, we all have opinion's on ivf. But shame on her for doing that. You are absolutly right, God gave doctor's these skills for a reason. Maybe she was PMS'ing.

NERVE! If it was not for a friend of mine coaxing me to get started, I may have been going later at this.Who knew it would take 2.5 years. It was so nice of you to share your experience, perhaps the daughter will come back to you privately. Re: pics...I think it might be hard for her to see you so happy with your baby. It should be an encouraging miracle.

I totally agree with you. Who does she think gave people the ability to come up with the advanced medical technology we have today? Why should we not get to benefit from it as well? I hate it when people say things like that.

You should have asked her if she would go to the doc if she was having a heart attack... well what if god doesn't want her to live through the heart attack maybe she doesn't deserve to..... =)

I wish you could have seen my supervisors face when I told her what she said about it. My supervisor was the only one I told at work when I was going Through IVF so I could have time off work and she is the best. She was so happy for me when finding out it worked and she loves Aubrey. She about went through the roof. P.S The daughter did see a Dr because her hubby made her and it is the hubby's sperm count which the Dr says no problem with helping them out. This I found out by talking with another co-worker last week who is friends with the daughter, she does not want the mother to know. I only talk to the lady about work. She tries to be fake friendly but she knows she went to far with me. Love to all

Oh my goodness!! I hope her daughter has her own mind and own way of thinking and will at least talk to a doctor to see what her options are.

It's hard to believe there are people like that out there in this day and age. I sure feel sorry for her daughter.

OMG!!! Kudos to you for walking away...I might have knocked this lady out! You know, some people need to just keep their opinions to themselves, especially when they're hurtful! I always kind of laugh to myself when I hear a story like this...I'm sure you did not appreciate her rudensss...neither would God!

Jesus Christ! What a rude woman. I'd try telling her that she has a cruel and vengeful God whereas I believe in a loving and good one. See what she says to that. Poor her daughter! I just don't know how come some people believe God wants them to suffer if help is possible.

To each their own I guess. I am glad you stuck to your guns...never let anyone tell you that you were wrong! Looking at your daughter is all the reward you need I am sure!

I believe that God put these people (our doctors) out there to help us conceive and the medications we need as well. She has the right to her opinions but I agree with torilynn, I would have smacked her. Congrats on being a strong enough person not too and congrats on your success with ivf.
