So, I went to pick up some medical records from the hospital yesterday, since I am seeing a new RE next week. When I looked at the write ups of 2 different procedures they contradicted themselves over which of my tubes are blocked. The HSG said my right tube did not have dye spillage and there was a probable blocakage/obstruction. That was in April 07. Then my lap (June 07) said there was great dye spillage in my right and none on my left............

My current RE was in Chicago yesterday, I am calling today. I am SOOOOO confused............. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

It hasn't happened to me officially in that it wasn't documented, but every doctor is always confused as to which tube I had removed and which one they couldn't even find. As a nurse, I can tell you that unfortunately it is very easy to make a mistake like that... but that is not an excuse. If you are being stimulated with something like clomid, it is not discriminate over which ovary it affects, so it really doesn't matter. Unless you are having surgery on one of them to have it unblocked, or some sort of procedure that directly involves your tube, you shouldn't have to worry about it. That is great that one of them is working!! I would definitely make them eat the cost of clarifying which it is, though. Good luck!

I don't even know if i want to see my medical records. I definitely think you should call your RE and ask for an explanation. You deserve it.

My old RE screwed up!!!!!!!! The HSG was correct- he said the right up after my lap was WRONG. My RIGHT tube is the blocked one... this is SCARY!

That is really scary and confusing. I hope that they are able to clear this up for you. I am sure you have enough on your plate without having to worry about them documenting things wrong.

That is soooo scary. We are going to a new RE, too and I can't wait to see what my chart says.
In Rhode Island one of our top hospitals has done brain operations on the wrong side of the brain on 4 different patients. 4 times in the last 3 years or something! They are human, too. I guess it is common to mix up the right and left side of the body. You would think with all of that schooling they would get it right!
My girlfriend is a nurse practitioner and she said if you ever go in for a right side/left side type of operation, write with sharpie marker "not this side" or put an "x" on the limb that is NOT to be operated on. She said people do it all the time!

When I had rotator cuff surgery they made sure that I marked the correct side. I asked if they screwed up sides often and the nurse said that it happens way more then you would think. I am glad you know for sure----I hope this new doc. is your answer
