I did an FET in Dec 09 and I took BCP's the month before then did lupron and estrace to build my lining. I only went for 2 u/s that was lining checks and then about a week before my transfer I did small doses of hcg (that was my doctors protocol i think most do not do the hcg part) then transfer day was the same as my fresh. Oh and instead of PIO I did prometrium suppositories. Good luck

Yes you do have to do shots again. It is less expensive, because you don't have to retrieve any eggs. The drugs are used to get your lining ready and it is just like your transfer day. I didn't have to wait, we just had to wait to save more money. I actually had success with my FET after my miscarriage from IVF. I hope it is that way for you too. They have been saying that if the eggs can survive the thaw than they are more likely to survive when transfered. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask I have done going on 3 FETs. I did my first round of IVF starting in July 2009 got BFN in September. We had 2 -3day embies put back in. As you know the fresh cycle requires serious monitoring and a lot of appointments. Also the medications cost me about $3,000. It didn't work. We only had 1 blastocyst make it to be frozen. I was disappointed that was all we had and not very optimistic. However, we did the FET right away starting as soon as I got my period end of September I think. Took BCP for a month and then started the medications. The medications for me were Delestrogen every 3 days IM shot and PIO daily IM shot. My hubby gave me the shots daily and we only had to go to the doctors a couple times. The medications all in total were like $300 instead of thousands. Happy ending it worked. I now have a beautiful baby boy that is 11 days old. The FET I found to be much less stressful. I just finish my second FET. It much less stress on the body. You have to take BCP, Lupron injections, Doxycycling and Estrace and Crinone. But there is only 2 ultrasound visits and one or two blood tests. It pretty easy compare to IVF.

Hi FETS are much easier, I had two ultrasounds to check my lining and as for the medication I only had to take tables and use pessaries, there were no injections. Probably the worse part about it is the having to lay down for an hour after inserting the pessaries...

I am now going for my second FET as the first didn't work.

I just did a Frozen cycle this was my 2nd attempt. Unfotunalty I got a BFN!
I was on lupron for a month, and estragen pills and vaginal progesterone. Plus the anitbotics before the transfer. It def is less stressful on ur body and of course cheaper the second time around if you use frozen embies. Good Luck to you Hope you get a BFP! I think I am gonna wait to try again, funds are low, and my mental statis needs a break I think, But i do hope I get to try again, and hopefully third times a charm!

Thank you for all of the replies! I am so confused as to the vastly different protocols. They said I didn't have to wait at all and the ONLY thing I'm taking is estrace 3 times per day. They're gong to check my lining on the 16th then schedule the transfer. I'm not complaining about the lack of meds but I'm just confused why other people have to take BCP and lupron.
